French Open: Bernd Wiesberger wins ahead of James Morrison

Bernd Wiesberger claimed his third European Tour title in Paris

Bernd Wiesberger finished three shots ahead of England's James Morrison to become the first Austrian winner of the French Open.

The 29-year-old carded six birdies - including five in six holes on the front nine - in a final round of 65.

Morrison's four-under round of 67 on Sunday left him two ahead of overnight leader, South African Jaco van Zyl.

German former world number one Martin Kaymer ended his round with a double bogey to finish fourth on seven under.

Italian Francesco Molinari carded a par final round of 71 to finish among a group of players on four under, along with England's Andy Sullivan.

Home favourite Victor Dubuisson, who began the day four shots off the lead in fourth, had a disappointing final round, dropping four shots, including a double bogey on the 18th and a triple bogey on the seventh to finish two under.

Sunday was all about Wiesberger, who began with three pars before the threat of lightning forced a delay of an hour.

The two-time European Tour winner birdied five of the next six holes to reach the turn in 31 and move into a four-shot lead.

Three birdies on the back nine kept Morrison in contention, but world number 39 Wiesberger was able to retain his advantage with a run of pars and a final birdie on the last.
