Isle of Wight golfer Brandon Robinson-Thompson has described his upcoming US Open debut as a "life changing" opportunity.
The 31-year-old will appear in his second major, after last year's Open, in North Carolina on Thursday.
The world number 478 will compete against some of the greats in the sport when he tees off at Pinehurst, something he is incredibly excited for.
"I'll be as ready as I could ever be," Robinson-Thompson told BBC South Today., external
"I've got some really good preparation in so far, the key for me is about being hot on and around the green."
Robinson-Thompson earned his spot through final qualifying at Walton Heath last month.
He had an agonising two hour wait to find out if his nine under par score would qualify but when he received the good news, he shared a joyous moment with family and friends.
"It's a life changing opportunity," he added.
"Last thing I heard was that you can't win the golf tournament if you're not on the field.
"There's always a chance and I know I can compete at this level, there's no question about that."
Robinson-Thompson will tee off on Thursday at 17:30 BST.
