  1. Fitz jumps to share of leadpublished at 11:13 GMT

    Fitzpatrick -17 (15)

After three in five and none in eight holes, suddenly Matt Fitzpatrick is holing birdie putts at the crucial time.

He's followed his fourth of the day on the 14th, with another on the 15th and that propels him to the top of the leaderboard, alongside Rory and Laurie. Terrific stuff.

    Rose -15, Aberg -16 (16)

With two chances to pick up shots left Justin Rose takes on the pin on the 17th.

It's bold and aggressive but also a tad left and his ball trickles away from the edge of the green into the run-off area just shy of the water.

Ludvig Aberg is slap-bang in the middle of the green on the par-three.

  3. Missed chancespublished at 11:05 GMT

    Canter -17, Fleetwood -16 (16)

Here's Tommy Fleetwood to tie the lead on the 16th green. His ball slides past the left edge and the Englishman raises his hands to his head in disbelief. He's left some shots out there today.

Laurie Canter is also in for par to stay in a share of the lead. He had a 14-footer to take the lead.

    McIlroy -17 (13)

Rory McIlroy finds the rough again off the tee on 14 and just chips his second down the fairway to leave a wedge into the green.

But he doesn't like this and has left himself with a 14-foot putt for birdie.

  6. Fitz breaks birdie droughtpublished at 10:58 GMT

    Fitzpatrick -16 (14)

Matt Fitzpatrick did make a quick start though with three birdies in his opening five holes. A run of eight pars somewhat stalled his momentum though, with several missed birdie putts.

But the Englishman has finally ended that barren run with a fourth birdie of the day on the long 14th - a nine-footer dropping in the hole.

Twice a winner of this event, he's just one back.

    Rose -15, Aberg -16 (16)

Justin Rose punches his approach to the back right of the 16th green. He'll be putting for birdie but from a good 25 feet or so and takes two with his flat stick for a four.

Ludvig Aberg also goes deep albeit from the right rough. No way he could go flag hunting from there with the water guarding the front edge.

He's then a little heavy handed with his putt and watches it whizz five feet past before dropping in the return for par.

  8. Too little too latepublished at 10:54 GMT

    Hatton -14 (14)

Tyrrell Hatton started this final round with ambitions of starting quickly and putting pressure on Rory McIlroy in an effort to overhaul the Northern Irishman and win the Race to Dubai.

Hatton needed to win and hope McIlroy finished no better than tied eighth.

Two bogeys in his opening three holes effectively snuffed out that hope. But he has since bounced back well. A fourth birdie of the round, on the long 14th, has got him to -14 but he looks destined to come up shy.

  9. Postpublished at 10:50 GMT

    Canter -17, Fleetwood -16 (15)

Tommy Fleetwood first to putt on the 15th hole, from around 30 feet. He just doesn't give that enough juice, the ball pulling up three feet short.

What has Laurie Canter learned? He's putting from a similar line to take the outright lead. Pushed it. Started too far right and it stayed out there. Pars apiece.

    McIlroy -17 (13)

Great control from Rory McIlroy off the 13th tee. With a seven iron in hand he zips into a around 12 feet and immediately gets the chance to immediately bounce back from that bogey a few minutes ago.

He starts his putt off right and doesn't get the turn he's expecting so will tap in for par.

  11. Untimely bogey for McIlroypublished at 10:43 GMT

    McIlroy -17 (12)

This is tight. And Rory McIlroy's chip scoots past the flag by some six to eight feet. The Northern Irishman can't knock in the return putt and all of a sudden finds himself in a tie for the lead.

    Fitzpatrick -15 (13)

Will Matt Fitzpatrick take advantage of his good fortune on the 13th green? No. Another big miss. The 2022 US Open champion can barely believe his ball hasn't dropped. Par.

  13. Postpublished at 10:42 GMT

    Rose -15 , Aberg -16 (15)

Justin Rose is running out of holes and his birdie putt on the 15th is running short of pace as it pulls up shy of the hole.

The Englishman could have done with that dropping.

Ludvig Aberg also feels like he's left a shot out there on the 15th, with a birdie putt sliding a couple of feet past.

  14. Canter and Fleetwood motoringpublished at 10:40 GMT

    Canter -17, Fleetwood -16 (14)

The chasing pack are showing no signs of letting up.

Laurie Canter is the first to get back within one. After making a bit of a mess of the par-five 14th - driving into rough and hacking his second shot 75 yards down the fairway, he then hits a 220-yard third shot to 35 feet and drains the putt. Big birdie.

Tommy Fleetwood was also forced to lay-up after finding rough off the tee, but his third shot arrowed in to three feet and that's a fourth birdie in five holes.

    Fitzpatrick -15 (12)

Matt Fitzpatrick is looking anxiously after his tee shot on the par-three 13th. His ball sneaks over a bunker at the front of the green and then catches a slope which carries his ball ever closer to the hole.

Another decent birdie look coming up for the Englishman.

    McIlroy -18 (11)

Rory McIlroy booms his drive left on the 12th and then lets out a little cry of frustration as he misses the dance floor with his approach.

An unforced error from the leader.

    Fitzpatrick -15 (12)

Matt Fitzpatrick is laying down on his front on the 12th green, analysing his eight-footer for birdie.

Whatever he saw, didn't work. Par.

  19. Lead back to twopublished at 10:24 GMT

    McIlroy -18 (11)

Back on the 11th, we find Rory McIlroy hovering over his 12-footer for a fifth birdie of the round.

His ball sets off right edge and it looks like it's staying out there but gravity takes over as his ball does a 180 before dropping.

  20. Canter climbing againpublished at 10:22 GMT

    Canter -16 (13)

Another draining a mid-range birdie try is Laurie Canter and he is back to within one of Rory's lead.
