Irish Open win would put 'nice shine on 2024' - McIlroy

Rory McIlroy says an Irish Open win at Royal County Down on Sunday wouldn't make up for his "close misses" this year but would "go a long way to putting a nice shine on 2024 for me".

McIlroy's battling two-under-par 69 gives him a one-stroke leader over Matteo Manassero going into the final round.

"But I can’t get that far ahead of myself. I need to go out and play another very solid round tomorrow to try and get the job done," McIlroy told BBC Sport NI.
