Welsh trio Frances Stone, Emily Roper and Ruby Evans have been named in the Great Britain (GB) squad for the upcoming European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Germany.

At just 15 years of age, Stone is preparing to compete at just her second senior international and will be the youngest athlete competing at the event in Leipzig between 26-31 May.

Amber Valley Gymnastics Academy athlete Stone claimed three medals at the British Championships in March – silver in the All-Around, gold on beam, and silver on vault.

Roper, now in her third year as a senior, returns to the GB squad following a strong start to 2025.

The Piper Vale gymnast secured bronze All-Around and gold on the uneven bars at the British Championships and also featured at the Cottbus World Cup earlier this season.

Despite being just 18 years of age, Evans - who trains at the centralised Welsh Gymnastics centre in Cardiff under the guidance of national coach Tracey Skirton -Davies brings Olympic experience to the team.

The Cardiff-based gymnast won silver with the team at last year's Europeans and this season defended her Welsh All-Around title with an impressive score of 53.000.

All three gymnasts are part of Team Wales' long list for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and will be joined at the European Championships by Olympic reserve Ruby Stacey and reigning British champion Alia Leat.

2025 will also see the European Championships premiere of the Mixed Team Final with one male & one female in the participating teams fighting for the medals in an exciting cross battles format.

Jemima Taylor, 16, originally from City of Newport Gymnastics Club, has been named as the first reserve and will accompany the team at their pre-competition training camp.
