Guernsey are through to the quarter-finals of the HA Vase after beating Worthing 3-1.

Liz Dudein and Bianca Symes put Guernsey 2-0 up after 12 minutes before Laura Webber hit a late third against a side that have not lost a league game.

The island team now face Hampshire side Yateley in the next round in March.

"At the end it was pure relief that it was finally over and that we'd done enough to progress," captain Emma Atkinson told BBC Guernsey.

"They really came out fighting in the second half and we struggled to clear our lines for the first 15 minutes or so but we managed to keep them at bay," she added.

Guernsey reached the final of the tournament last year, and with the island's men's side also through to the last eight of the HA Trophy, Atkinson says it is a great time for Guernsey Hockey.

"The only way is up and the same for the men. As long as we can keep supporting each other then the future of Guernsey hockey is looking great."
