Magician was the 13-8 favourite to win the Dee Stakes at Chester

Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien won his second Epsom Derby warm-up race of the week as Magician took the Dee Stakes.

The 13-8 favourite, ridden by Ryan Moore, was a comfortable winner at Chester, beating 9-4 chance Contributer into second with Glacial Age third.

O'Brien's Ruler of the World won the Chester Vase on Thursday.

"Magician is a very nice horse," said Moore. "He felt relaxed going round there and when you asked he really quickened very well."

Moore added: "He's got plenty of pace. They are different types (Ruler Of The World and Magician), but both are good ones."

Earlier this week, O'Brien's Camelot made a winning return to the track for 2013 in the Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh in Ireland.
