God's Own saw off the challenge of high-profile rivals to win the Haldon Gold Cup Chase at Exeter.

A shock Grade 1 winner at Punchestown in May, Tom George's charge was an 8-1 shot for this race, with 2012 winner Cue Card the 13-8 favourite.

God's Own, with Paddy Brennan on board, pushed five lengths clear of runner-up Balder Succes, with Oscar Hill third.

Cue Card, on his first start since finishing second in the King George last December, came home in fourth.

Hinterland, another heavily backed runner, was pulled up before the fourth-last fence.
