California Chrome is favourite for the 20th running of the Dubai World Cup, the world's richest race, on Saturday.

The horse, who came close to winning the US Triple Crown last year, will be ridden by Victor Espinoza (17:00 GMT).

Last year's Dubai winner African Story returns for Saeed bin Suroor, who also saddles Prince Bishop while Side Glance is the other British-trained entry.

Meanwhile, the British turf Flat racing season starts with the Lincoln Handicap (15:45) - the big race at Doncaster.

The Dubai World Cup meeting takes place at Meydan racecourse, with more than £3.8m going to the winner of the big race.

French Derby and Irish Champion Stakes winner The Grey Gatsby, trained in Britain by Kevin Ryan, will be ridden by Ryan Moore in the Dubai Turf (15:40).
