Red Verdon will miss the St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday, says trainer Ed Dunlop.

The horse, sixth in the Derby at Epsom and fourth in the Irish version, was about 8-1 third favourite for the world's oldest Classic.

Dunlop was not happy with the colt, who has the same owner as late stablemate and three-time Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux, after a training run.

Idaho, trained by Aidan O'Brien, is the odds-on favourite for Saturday's race.

Seamie Heffenan will ride Idaho, with O'Brien's retained jockey Ryan Moore at Leopardstown for Irish Champions Weekend.
