The Belfast Giants recorded a vital victory on the road with a 2-0 success away to Dundee Stars on Thursday.

The win moves Doug Christiansen's men above Sheffield Steelers and into second place - two points behind leaders Nottingham Panthers.

The Giants got off to an ideal start as Kevin Saurette scored on the powerplay on 3.04 from a Robby Sandrock assist.

That is how it stood until 14.24 in the third period when Jeff Mason netted the second goal for the Giants.

The Giants are next in action on Saturday night when they take on Sheffield Steelers at the Odyssey Arena.
