Belfast Giants extended their Elite League advantage to six points as Calvin Elfring's goal earned a 3-2 over-time win over Fife Flyers.

Despite the big gap between the teams in the table, Derek Roehl put Fife ahead with the only first-period goal.

Powerplay goals from Evan Cheverie and Chris Higgins put Belfast ahead by the end of the second period.

Bobby Chaumont's goal ensured that the game went to over-time but Elfring's strike sealed Belfast's win.

The Giants now lead Braehead by six points going into Saturday's fixtures which includes Belfast's home game against Sheffield Steelers.
