Elite League champions the Belfast Giants extended their remarkable winning run to 16 matches with a 5-4 comeback win over the Cardiff Devils.

Markus Roma gave Cardiff the lead but goals from Craig Peacock and Cody Brookwell saw the Giants lead at the end of the first period at the Odyssey.

Goals from Roma in the second period and Matthew Myers and Mac Faulkner in the third saw the Devils move ahead.

Kevin Phillips, Jeff Szwez and Colin Shields were on target for Belfast.

The game saw ex-Giants coach Dave Whistle return to Belfast as coach of the Devils.

The Giants now travel to face Sheffield Steelers on Sunday (17:00 GMT).
