Mitch Ganzak earned the Belfast Giants a 4-3 overtime win after the Braehead Clan had battled back from 3-1 down.

Powerplay goals in the opening period from James Desmarais and Kris Beech gave the Giants a 2-0 lead.

Braehead struck first in the next period through Stefan Meyer but Craig Peacock quickly replied to restore the two-goal advantage.

Clan's Thomas Nesbitt and Scott Pitt scored late goals to send the Elite League contest into overtime.

Ganzak netted 50 seconds in to give Belfast a fourth straight league victory following a win over Cardiff Devils and two away to Edinburgh Capitals.

It keeps the fourth-placed Giants right in title contention as they have matches in hand on the teams above them in the table.

The Giants are at home Braehead on Tuesday and Dundee Stars on Wednesday.
