Cardiff Devils have suspended netminder Mac Carruth as a result of his behaviour towards a Nottingham Panthers fan in the aftermath of the Elite League contest between the sides.
Carruth featured at the Motorpoint Arena as Devils were comfortably beaten 5-1 by the hosts on Wednesday.
And the Welsh side have confirmed they are investigating a post-game incident involving 32-year-old American Carruth and a home supporter.
They also confirmed Carruth will not be in the Devils line-up for the next two fixtures against Belfast Giants or Manchester Storm.
A club statement read: "To be clear, we do not accept this kind of behaviour from any player or staff member."
Defeat in Nottingham ensured Cardiff remain fourth in the Elite League table.
Victory lifted Nottingham up to second, a point behind leaders Belfast Giants who have two games in hand.
