"I've got to go for Cardiff. They have players who have been successful at this level before and, looking at the squad, they are capable of taking a few hits in terms of losing players before the transfer window closes."

  3. Votepublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

We've asked you who will win League Two (16.8% of you said Portsmouth), but now we want to know who you think will win the Championship title?

Will it be one of the clubs (Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich) relegated from the Premier League? Will last season's play-off finalists Derby go one better this time? Could Stuart Pearce's return to Nottingham Forest end in glory? Or do you fancy one of the other sides to tear up the division?

Vote now at the top of this page and we'll reveal how you voted after 13:30 BST. Terms and conditions can be found here.

We'll have a vote on the League One title at 14:30.

How has your club fared in the transfer market? "Striker Leonardo Ulloa's move to Leicester City has created a big hole but Chris O'Grady appears to be an astute signing with experienced defender Aaron Hughes a reasonable replacement for Matthew Upson."

How do you expect your team to do this season? "The Seagulls have made the play-offs in the last two seasons and that should be the aim once again provided more signings are made before the end of the transfer window."

Who is your club's player to watch? "Solly March has begun to establish himself at the club and may play a more central role in Sami Hyypia's side, which could allow him to have more of an impact in front of goal."

  7. Football League Focuspublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

Brentford took 58 points from a possible 69 at home last season - the best record in League One. The Bees won 19 of their 23 matches at Griffin Park, drawing one and losing three.

  8. Bell departs for 58 in fourth Testpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

Ian Bell is out at Old Trafford, caught behind off Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 58 to leave England on 140-5, still 12 runs behind India on day two of the fourth Test. Joe Root and Moeen Ali are the men at the crease, both on nought.

About a decade ago, Brentford boss Mark Warburton swapped stocks and shares for socks and shinpads. Now he is a second-tier manager after taking the west London club into the Championship for the first time since it was created in 2004.

The City trader who became a Championship manager is one of 10 compelling Championship tales that we think you must read before this weekend's kick-off.

Britt Assombalonga, pictured (Nottingham Forest) - "The forward has cost Forest in the region of £5m, but then he dealt with the pressure of being Peterborough's record signing and it will be interesting to see how he does in the Championship."

Ross McCormack (Fulham) - "Twenty-eight goals in an average Leeds side last season speaks for itself."

Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) - "He burst on to the scene at Coventry, scoring 22 goals in League One last season, so the question now is can he repeat that in the Championship?"

How has your club fared in the transfer market? "The financial muscle of owner Matthew Benham has allowed the signings of Moses Odubajo (flying winger from Orient), striker Scott Hogan (shortlisted for the League Two player of the year, from Rochdale), the Conference top goalscorer Andre Gray (from Luton), the "loan made perm" signing of playmaker Alan Judge and not forgetting Marcos Tebar, bought in as a free agent from Spain - who came through the ranks at Real Madrid, no less."

How do you expect your team to do this season? "Attack, attack, attack- so it could go either way."

Who is your club's player to watch? "James Tarkowski, the young centre-back - no weaknesses that I can see: Brentford had the best home record in League One last term; we shall see if the back five are good enough to make the step-up."

  12. Jordan falls to Kumarpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

England lose nightwatchman Chris Jordan for 13 and are 137-4, still 15 runs behind India, on day two of the fourth Test at Old Trafford. Ian Bell has completed his 42nd Test fifty. Commentary continues on 5 live sports extra.

  13. Swindon sign young Premier League duopublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

Swindon's club secretary has been busy in the office this morning. That's because the League One side have been pushing through the paperwork to sign Liverpool defender Brad Smith and Southampton defender Jordan Turnbull on season-long loans.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Felix Magath, Stuart Pearce, Steve McClaren

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Cardiff) - "I watched a lot of his games last season and at times he looked like a little boy lost. It will be interesting to see what he knows about this level. Certainly tactically, and from what we saw last year, he needs to step up to the plate."

Felix Magath (Fulham) - "The fact they've signed someone, Ross McCormack, for £11m is unbelievable. That puts pressure on the manager. They are a club that almost needs the top flight as a lot of people that go to watch them at Craven Cottage don't necessarily support them. If they don't get back into the Premier League they could melt into the crowd."

Neil Adams (Norwich) - "I don't know whether he can succeed or not. He is completely unproven and so far all we have seen is that he couldn't keep them up."

We're asking who you think will make an impact at your club this season. Please keep them coming in to #myclubshiddengems

Rian Hoskins: Wouldn't have got into Chelsea's team this season but look out for John Swift, on loan at Rotherham. Very skilled winger.

Faseeh Warind: Gnabry and Zelalem for Arsenal. German youth at its very best.

Mark Shanahan: My latest tip for the top at Man City is a promising youngster called Frank Lampard.

  16. Bookies pay out to Celtic punterspublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

While Legia Warsaw go mad, Celtic fans will be delighted - if not slightly sheepish - about their team being thrown back into the Champions League.

And some of those Bhoys who had a punt on their team beating the Polish side will have an extra bit of weekend spending money after Uefa's decision.

That's because bookmakers Ladbrokes are paying out to punters who backed the Scottish champions to qualify.

  17. Legia to fight Uefa decisionpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 8 August 2014

Legia Warsaw are not happy - not happy at all. The Polish club's chairman Dariusz Mioduski vows to "fight" Uefa's decision to kick them out of the Champions League, with Celtic taking their place, for fielding an ineligible player.

"Today, the sport lost behind closed doors. We made a mistake, sorry, but the penalty is disproportionate. Stay with us. We fight on," Mioduski he says on Twitter.

    Kris Temple

    Eddie HoweImage source, Getty Images

How has your club fared in the transfer market? "Eddie Howe has lost top-scorer Lewis Grabban to Norwich, but replaced him with the highly-rated Callum Wilson from Coventry. Midfielder Dan Gosling moved south after his release by Newcastle, while Howe has been reunited with winger Junior Stanislas after the pair worked together at Burnley."

How do you expect your team to do this season? "It was a terrific sustained effort to finish 10th last season, given that the large majority of the squad had no Championship experience going into the campaign. They play the sort of football that suits the division, and will definitely be wiser this time around, I'm sure. Although their budget is still nowhere near the level of some of the teams they're challenging with, another play-off push is likely."

Who is your club's player to watch? "Purely because he's been brought in to replace 22-goal top-scorer Grabban, it will have to be Callum Wilson. He scored 22 times for Coventry in League One and it will be interesting to see how he takes to this level."

  20. Champions League play-off drawpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 8 August 2014
