    Barcelona confirm that new £15m signing Thomas Vermaelen is still carrying a hamstring injury and will have to wait before he starts training with his new team.

    The 28-year-old, who signed from Arsenal, was presented at the Nou Camp on Sunday. He injured himself during Belgium's 1-0 win over Russia in the World Cup.

    The Community Shield could be staged overseas in the future, says the Football Association's general secretary Alex Horne.

    The season's curtain-raiser is traditionally held at Wembley, but the contract with the stadium is due to expire in 2018.

    "It's an interesting idea and we've seen the NFL do something similar with their games coming to Wembley," he told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek programme..

    "The NBA are doing it and we know that Spanish football and Italian football are looking at doing that with their own Supercup-type games.

    "So, it's an interesting opportunity. But, as I say, right now, we've got a contract with Wembley [until 2018], and the fans and the players enjoy playing at Wembley."
