    As we mentioned earlier (see 08.10 GMT entry), Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is playing down talk of his side achieving a quadruple, but we want to hear your thoughts.

    It's remained an unattainable feat in English football, with Liverpool (1983-84) and Manchester United (1998-99) going closest by winning three major trophies in a single season.

    In recent years, we have seen Chelsea (2006-07), Manchester United (2008-09) and Manchester City (2013-14) fall short after staying in contention into the second half of the season. Is this Chelsea squad better equipped than previous sides to mount a challenge for all four?

    The second Test between Australia and India has begun in Brisbane and the tourists have had the best of the first day, closing on 311-4.

    Opener Murali Vijay hit 144 as the tourists recovered from 137-3 in scorching heat at the Gabba.

    In Steve Smith's first Test as stand-in captain for the injured Michael Clarke, Australia used eight bowlers as injury and fatigue took its toll on the their attack.

    Mitchell Marsh pulled up with a hamstring injury, Mitchell Starc and debutant Josh Hazlewood left the field with exhaustion and Mitchell Johnson bowled through a hip problem.

    Commonwealth and European champion Jazz Carlin is named British Swimming Athlete of the Year after the public chose their 2014 champion from a pool of outstanding achievers.

    Carlin won with a massive 78% of the votes after a year that saw her crowned Wales' first female Commonwealth champion in 40 years.

    Carlin's 2014 also saw her stand on the podium at the European Championships after winning both the 400m and 800m freestyle.

    Today's gossip column has all the latest transfer rumours from the newspapers.

    Daily Express:, external Real Madrid are said to be preparing to break the goalkeeping transfer record to sign Manchester United's David De Gea, 24, for a fee eclipsing the £33m Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.

    Daily Mirror:, external Liverpool are making an attempt to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, 32, on loan.

    Daily Mail:, external Crystal Palace are planning to sign Roma's former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole, 33, on loan.

    In Tuesday night's other FA Cup second-round replays, there were wins for Luton, Cambridge, Rochdale and Tranmere.

    Barnsley also progressed with a 3-0 win at Chester, despite the hosts' Gareth Roberts enjoying an energy boost by munching on a packet of biscuits during the game.

    It's not all about the League Cup. In the FA Cup, League One Yeovil Town can look forward to hosting Manchester United in the third round after two late goals saw off Accrington Stanley in their second-round replay.

    The Glovers, who are 21st in the third tier, face the 11-time winners at Huish Park in a televised match on Sunday, 4 January.

    The Somerset side, relegated from the Championship last season, are set to net £144,000 in TV funds along with the prize money on offer for progressing.

    Yeovil manager Gary Johnson admitted: "I think all the board of directors were on their knees for 90 minutes, praying that we'd win. They'll be very proud of their football club."

    In Tuesday night's other League Cup quarter-final, Sheffield United sent Southampton to their fifth successive defeat as Marc McNulty's goal took the Blades into the last four.

    It continued their impressive record against Premier League opposition in cup competitions, having knocked out Aston Villa, Fulham, West Ham and now Southampton in the last two seasons.

    "It is an incredible night for the club," said Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough.

    The Chelsea boss said "we don't speak about" the possibility of winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

    Mourinho added: "You [the media] spoke a few weeks ago about being unbeatable in the Premier League and we never did it.

    "Now you speak about the quadruple. We have our feet on the ground."

    It may be a long way off, but they're looking seriously impressive so far.
