    Former Barcelona forward Bojan suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during last month's FA Cup fourth-round win at Rochdale and is out for the remainder of the season.

    Getafe coach Quique Sanchez Flores unexpectedly quit the La Liga club, citing 'personal reasons'.

    "I want to communicate to you my decision today to stand down as Getafe coach," Sanchez Flores told Spanish media.

    "It is a personal decision, the product of deep reflection which will allow me to avoid situations which at the time did not make me happy."

    Getafe are 13th in La Liga, four points above the relegation zone.

    Tim Sherwood admits he was "very disappointed" after his first game in charge ended in a stoppage time home defeat to Stoke.

    Gus Poyet has some bad news - striker Emanuele Giaccherini is unlikely to play again this season after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.

    The 29-year-old had an operation on Thursday on the injury that flared back up in the FA Cup replay win at Fulham earlier this month, and has been ruled out for a minimum of 12 weeks.

    Poyet said: "Towards the end of last season when we did the miracle and stayed up he was a very, very important player - he was coming from the bench and changing games.

    "It's tough but I think it's the risk of forward players. We need to be sure he is 100 per cent and we wish him well and hope he will make a full recovery."

    Manny Pacquiao will play another game of basketball in the Philippines' top professional league before his showdown with Floyd Mayweather in May.

    Pacquiao, 36, faces unbeaten Mayweather in Las Vegas on 2 May in what is set to be the richest bout in boxing history.

    He has made four appearances this term as player-coach for Kia Carnival and said he would play again on Saturday before flying to the US to train.

    "I know what I'm doing," said Pacquiao, who has scored one point so far.

    At 5ft 6ins, Pacquiao is the shortest and oldest player in the Philippine league.

    Monaco's shock Champions League victory at Arsenal on Wednesday night has been given the royal seal of approval.

    Prince Albert II of Monaco, who was at the Emirates Stadium to witness the French club's 3-1 triumph (he's the bespectacled fella on the left in the photo below), was surprised but nevertheless thrilled by the result.

    "It's a historic night. Everything went wonderfully. We saw a very determined, well organised AS Monaco side," he told the Ligue 1 club's website.

    "I never thought that one day I'd see the scoreboard at the Emirates Stadium read 3-1 to AS Monaco. It's the kind of game that gives you hope for the end of the season and for the future."

    Former Australia striker Scott McDonald is in talks about a return to his former club, Motherwell.

    The 31-year-old, who also had a successful three-year spell in Scotland with Celtic, was released by English Championship club Millwall in January.

    Motherwell hope to conclude a deal on Thursday for the player who left Well for Celtic in 2007.

    McDonald, who joined Millwall from Middlesbrough in 2013, scored three goals in 26 appearances this season.

    One piece of good news for Newcastle is the return to the squad of midfielder Jonas Gutierrez after overcoming testicular cancer.

    Gutierrez had surgery to remove his left testicle in his native Argentina in September before undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

    He played 87 minutes as captain for the Under-21 side in December.
