    Bad news for Andy Murray. The Scot has lost the opening set of his Dubai Championships quarter-final against Croatia's Borna Coric.

    Murray was broken twice as Coric took the opener 6-1 in double-quick time.

    Not a good start.

    The decision to suspend professional football in Greece is "ridiculous", according to former Manchester United and Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele.

    The Greek government announced an "indefinite" ban after violence at Sunday's Super League match between Steele's Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.

    But it was later announced the ban would be for one week.

    "Don't be so ridiculous suspending any matches," Steele, who moved to Greece last summer, tweeted on Wednesday.

    Andy Murray is taking on Croatia's Borna Coric at the Dubai Championships, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

    Murray, who took just 57 minutes to beat Portugal's Joao Sousa 6-0 6-2 in the last round, has been broken early in the game and trails 3-1.

    Nottinghamshire batsman Michael Lumb will miss the start of the season after tearing a tendon in his arm playing in Australia's Big Bash T20 tournament.

    The England left-hander, who helped Sydney Sixers reach the Big Bash final, will be out up to 12 weeks.

    Lumb is the second Notts opener to be injured this winter after Jake Libby damaged knee ligaments in January.

    They begin their County Championship Division One campaign on 12 April with a game against Middlesex at Lord's.

    Stuart Lancaster's decision not to drop Dylan Hartley for disciplinary problems has been justified by his England performances, according to the player.

    Lancaster spoke to Hartley ahead of the Six Nations and he has started both victories over Wales and Italy.

    "It was said that Stuart had a perfect opportunity to drop me," said Hartley. "But I think I've given him reason to keep me here in the first two games."

    England play Ireland in Dublin on Sunday at 15:00 GMT.

    British Transport Police have confirmed that seven Chelsea fans have come forward following the incident on the Paris Metro last week after the Blues Champions League game with PSG.

    "Seven men have come forward in connection with the investigation into racist chanting at St Pancras International station on Wednesday, 18 February," a British Transport Police statement read.

    "The men will be interviewed in due course."

    Australia's top-ranked player Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from next week's Davis Cup World Group showdown against the Czech Republic with a back problem.

    Kyrgios was to have joined Bernard Tomic as one of the likely singles players for Australia, with veteran Lleyton Hewitt and Sam Groth completing the line-up under new captain Wally Masur.

    Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho is not in the squad to face Besiktas in the Europa League tonight. But there's good news on the hip injury he's been suffering from.

    The defender has tweeted, external: "Good news as following the tests I had at the beginning of the week and after the medical staff's opinion I can go back to training with the group on Saturday.

    "Meanwhile, I wish good luck to the whole team for tonight."

    "It's hard to see how we've not won that game, I'm not sure what to put it down to," he said. "We threw everything at it and there were opportunities in the last few overs."

    Their next game is against Bangladesh on 4 March, a match Scotland surely need to win to keep alive any faint hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

    A final note on Afghanistan - victory means they are now above England in Pool A.
