    When Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho speaks, people tend to listen. Today is no different as he addresses the press at his news conference ahead of this weekend's derby against QPR. He had this to say about injured striker Diego Costa...

    "Only Diego is injured, everybody else is fine and ready (to play at QPR). I think we have eight matches to play, if he plays four it is normal. If he plays three he is a bit below what I am expecting. If he plays five that is more than I am expecting. I am not concerned (by his injury)."

    So, with a bit of luck, Chelsea fans can expect to see Costa again sometime around the start of May.

    Kell Brook has announced he will defend his IBF world welterweight title against Frankie Gavin at the O2 Arena on 30 May.

    Brook, 28, successfully defended his IBF world welterweight title with a fourth-round victory over Romanian-born Jo Jo Dan in Sheffield on 28 March and had wanted to fight Amir Khan but the Bolton boxer has opted to fight American Chris Algieri next.

    It was a superb first day of golfing action in the 79th Masters yesterday, particularly for young Jordan Speith, who tore Augusta up with an eight-under 64 to lead by three shots from a pack that includes England's Justin Rose and "The Big Easy" Ernie Els.

    Jolyon Palmer has conceded to feeling like "a proper racing driver again" following his Formula One debut with Lotus on Friday.

    Last season's GP2 champion, the son of former F1 racer Jonathan, joined Lotus over the winter as reserve to Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean and recovered from a second-lap spin to finish just 0.6secs adrift of Maldonado.

    "It was nice because it was like driving on a proper race weekend again which I've missed since GP2," he said.

    "There was always going to be a lot to learn as I hadn't driven the car for two months, and I haven't been to this track before. I didn't even drive it on the simulator."

    Wicketkeeper Tom Poynton has signed a new contract that will keep him at Derbyshire until the end of 2016.

    Poynton, 25, missed the entire 2014 season with leg injuries sustained in a car crash in which his father was killed.

    "Tom has shown exceptional character since the tragic events that ended his season," elite performance director Graeme Welch told the club website., external

    "He has worked tirelessly, both in training and in his off-the-field role, to prepare him for his return. Everyone at the club is delighted to see him back on the field."

    Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper has suggested midfielder Massimo Luongo could leave the play-off chasing League One club at the end of the season.

    The 22-year-old Australia international, who starred in his country's Asian Cup success earlier this year, told Australian broadcaster SBS, external in February he wanted a "new challenge" after two seasons with the Robins.

    "If it's time for him to move on, it's time for him to move on," Cooper told BBC Radio Wiltshire. "He's got to keep playing and playing well to get the best move that he possibly can if he is going to go. I've got no problem with people being ambitious."

    The MCC have issued a statement, paying tribute, external to the late Richie Benaud, who was elected as an Honorary Life Member of the organisation in 1967...

    It says: "Marylebone Cricket Club would like to express its sadness at the news of Richie Benaud's passing. A triple Ashes-winning captain and icon of cricket commentary and punditry, Benaud was universally liked and respected across the world of cricket, and will be sorely missed by everyone at Lord's."

    MCC president David Morgan adds: "As a cricketer he was a fantastic leader and one of the finest exponents of the art of leg spin the game has ever seen. As a commentator his skill was unrivalled - charismatic, engaging and informative."

    Dave Chisnall won both of his matches in Sheffield on Thursday to narrow the gap at the top of the Premier League table.

    World number one Michael van Gerwen continues to lead the group, maintaining his unbeaten record with a 7-5 win over Stephen Bunting.

    But St Helens-born Chisnall, 34, is just a point behind the Dutchman after beating world champion Gary Anderson 7-3 and then James Wade 7-1.

    Wasps deputy chairman Nick Eastwood insists that struggling football club Coventry City remain an important part of the Premiership rugby side's successful new life at the Ricoh Arena.

    Sky Blues fans have been left perturbed by a press release announcing redevelopment plans at the 32,600-stadium, which the rugby club now own.

    But Eastwood told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "Coventry City are a very important part of our business. They have a significant number of fans who come. They are very important."

    Another defining BBC voice, football's John Motson, has had this to say about fellow commentary great Richie Benaud on BBC Radio 5 Live...

    "He will always be remembered for the clipped phrase and economy of words. I met him once and he told me when he finished playing Test cricket he trained on a course to be a commentator at the BBC. That is the kind of determination he had.

    "He was part of a group that styled commentary on the BBC from the 1960s onwards. When that cricket tune played on BBC One you knew you would hear that perfect voice of Benaud telling you what was happening in a perfectly economic fashion.

    "Having being an Australian captain he spoke with so much authority and gave such superb insight into the game. He had the ability to put his finger on the key moment that defined it - he had a great gift for that."

    The late Richie Benaud was one cricket's defining voices during his illustrious cricket commentary career. BBC Radio 5 live has been speaking to two other defining sporting voices in Murray Walker and John Motson. Here is what Formula 1 commentator Walker had to say about Benaud:

    "Firstly, he was an extremely nice man. Someone's personality shines through when they commentate. He was a master of his craft. He had been there and done it, played at the highest level and was a master of it all. He had a gift of putting knowledge and experience into meaningful and intelligent words. Benaud had this superb laid back, laconic delivery that fitted his sport perfectly."

    Lancashire have signed Australia all-rounder and World Cup winner James Faulkner as an overseas player to cover for Peter Siddle.

    Pace bowler Siddle has been named in Australia's squad for their Ashes series with England later this year.

    Left-arm seamer Faulkner, 24, will join Division Two side Lancashire after appearing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, and he will remain at Old Trafford until the end of August.

    Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted the club face a fight to keep hold of right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

    The 24-year-old England defender, who joined from Crystal Palace in July 2012, is under contract until the summer of 2016 and has been linked to a number of clubs and is yet to commit his long-term future to the Saints.

    "We are still trying to keep Clyne in the club. We know it's not easy as maybe there is some interest," Koeman told BBC Radio Solent. "At the moment, there is not a serious bid for whichever player in the team, but we'll do everything to keep them."
