    His part in the incident with Ritchie Sutton saw the Tranmere defender sent-off. The red card has since been rescinded and Kabba now faces a three-match ban.

    Stoke City can cope this weekend with the suspensions of two players, according to defender Erik Pieters.

    Charlie Adam and Ibrahim Afllay will miss the game at Arsenal after they were both sent off against West Brom.

    "We are a squad and we have a strong squad this season," Pieters told BBC Radio Stoke. "We have more than 20 players we will miss them but it’s not all about Afflay and Adam."

    Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has told the Times (subscription required), external teenage French striker Anthony Martial was signed for the next manager at Old Trafford, and suggested that would be Ryan Giggs.

    "I have not bought Martial for me - I have bought him for the next manager of Manchester United," the Dutchman said, adding of Giggs: "I feel I am introducing the next manager of Manchester United." 

    Van Gaal said of the Martial fee: "It was a ridiculous amount of money, but it's the crazy world we are in."

The Arsenal manager expects to receive more information from his medical team later on Thursday, but the midfielder is definitely not in the squad for Saturday's game.
