    West Ham 2 Newcastle 0

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic thought his team "fully deserved the points", saying: "We were better from the start and we scored at the right times."

Opposite number Steve McClaren, predictably, was a little less pleased. "You need these games, they hurt like mad, but you need them to get the message across," he said.

"This is a journey and it is two steps forward one step back, this was two or three steps back. Our final ball was poor and now Saturday is very important to us."

    West Ham 2 Newcastle 0

With apologies to Newcastle fans, let's rewind for a moment to Monday night.

West Ham's 2-0 win over the Magpies sent them to fifth in the Premier League table.

Dimitri Payet got both goals for the hosts. In comparison Newcastle have scored only two goals this season, the lowest tally in the division.

Defeat leaves Steve McClaren without a league win since taking over at St James' Park in the summer. Not, in other words, the ideal start.

An early head's up for what - City game aside - could be one of the highlights of the day.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is holding a news conference at 12:30 BST.

In theory he's there to discuss Wednesday's Champions league home opener with Maccabi Tel Aviv. In reality he'll be facing a barrage of questions about his team's nightmare start to the season.

Given Mourinho's tendancy to get a wee bit fiery with the media, it could be lively.

We'll bring you full coverage of what happens.
