Edmund injury led to Evans recallpublished at 15:48

The indication from GB captain Leon Smith is that Kyle Edmund is very likely to have played if he had not turned his ankle on Tuesday, but this still represents a big gamble - when the stakes have never been higher.

There's no doubt Evans is in form (rising back to 300 in the world, having been 772 as recently as May), and has at times shown a flair for the big occasion: in the Davis Cup as well as at the US Open. But this year - playing predominantly in the third tier of men's tennis - Evans has beaten only one top 100 player, and just four others from the top 200.

Smith has never shied away from making a tough call, and has barely put a foot wrong as captain. His 'gut instinct' should be respected, but will it be correct?

Declaration could spark debatepublished at 15:45

    Somerset 374-4 v Sussex 409 - tea, day four

BBC Somerset's Anthony Gibson at Hove:

"Marcus Trescothick's masterful 183 not out has put Somerset within touching distance of maximum batting points, with good support from James Hildreth, caught down the leg-side for 68, and a typically belligerent Peter Trego, still there on 67.

"So, only one bowling point so far for Sussex and a Somerset declaration on 400 could deny them any more. But would that count as an 'extraordinary declaration', bringing the game into disrepute? Probably, although the final decision rests with the ECB and the umpires."

BBC Sport's Ian Stringer: "I’ve been to hundreds of press conferences and in a day when we’re told the game is full of sterile pre and post-match interviews, Claudio Ranieri has just delivered a masterclass in ‘infotainment’.

He sees Stoke as a dangerous, has a full bill of health but his incentive for his defenders will dominate the newspapers tomorrow I’m sure.

The promise of pizza for all his players if the Foxes keep their first clean sheet of the season was one of many highlights and will get local pizza makers here in Leicester licking their lips ahead of a big order soon, they hope.

Ranieri described his team as similar to the RAF in their methods of attack although did go on to warn one of his best pilots, Riyad Mahrez, that he would be under attack himself given his excellent form in the league.

The room was rolling around laughing in between his steely-eyed focus on keeping the unbeaten run going.

Swansea v Everton (Sat 15:00 BST)

Swansea City Manager Garry Monk has been giving his news conference and high on the agenda was the transfer of former goalkeeper Michel Vorm to Tottenham last season, after it emerged the Dutchman's former club Utrecht are taking them to the Court of Arbitration.

Utrecht are adamant they are owed money by the Welsh side as both clubs agreed a sell on clause when Vorm joined the Swans for £1.5million in 2011.

But the Swans say the goalkeeper left on a free transfer and separate to the swap deal between Wales defender Ben Davies and Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Utrecht have already failed with an appeal to FIFA and Swansea have confirmed they are aware of the latest twist in this case, but Monk is unconcerned as he believes "from our side everything is fine."

Monk said: "We're a perfectly run club. I think the decision earlier in the season from FIFA which was all ok so I think that proves everything.
