Wales manager Chris Coleman has confirmed Gareth Bale will start for Wales in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Bosnia-Herzegovina tomorrow night.

Wales need a just a point from their last two qualifying games to confirm their place in next year's Euro 2016 tournament in France.

Bale suffered a calf injury last month on club duty with Real Madrid.

England set for Estonia meeting

England take on Estonia in Euro 2016 qualification at Wembley tonight.

Roy Hodgson's side may already be safely qualified, but there will be plenty of players desperate to deliver a great performance, not least Tottenham's Harry Kane, who despite an unconvincing start to the club season is set to get a start in place of the injured Wayne Rooney.

Sutherland makes Daggers loan switch

League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge have signed Queens Park Rangers midfielder Frankie Sutherland on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old, who is yet to make his first-team debut for Rangers, will be with the Daggers until 5 November.

England are already safely qualified for Euro 2016, but will they stick with the team that got them there? Or can some new names force their way into the team ahead of the tournament in France?

Zimbabwe have beaten Ireland by two wickets in the first one-day international in Harare.

Gary Wilson made an unbeaten 70 and Ed Joyce 53 as Ireland made 219-8.

Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza both hit fifties in reply as Zimbabwe squeezed home with six balls to spare.

Strachan still best man - Dalglish

Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish believes manager Gordon Strachan should stay in charge - despite presiding over a failed qualification campaign for Euro 2016.

"I think you're off your head if you think you're going to get anybody better," he told BBC Scotland. 

"It's always the manager that gets it, but why change the manager if you can't get a better one? It was a difficult group to get out of, so the disappointment should be overruled by common sense."

Brilliant Burgess can shine in union - Folau

Australia full-back Israel Folau has backed England's Sam Burgess to shine in rugby union.

Burgess switched from rugby league to the 15-man code less than a year ago and was criticised by some for his role in England's crucial World Cup defeat by Wales - after which he was dropped from the starting XV.

But Folau, himself a convert from league, said: "I think Sam's a brilliant player and his progress, from my point of view, has been going good. He is a great athlete who can do really well in the union game and I hope he does."

Bayliss mulls tough call on Wood and Finn

More on England's preparations for the first Test against Pakistan. 

Bowler Steven Finn took 4-16 in the final warm-up match against Pakistan A and head coach Trevor Bayliss says it will be hard to choose between him and Mark Wood for the third seamer's spot in the Test XI.

"They both bowled very well," Bayliss said. "Finn finished with wickets in this match but Wood bowled extremely well in the first [warm-up] and on another day could have taken a bag-full. That will be a tough call."

Rotherham appoint Redfearn

More on the news that Rotherham United have appointed Neil Redfearn as their new manager.

Redfearn, who has been out of work since leaving Leeds in the summer, has penned a two-and-a-half year deal with the Championship club and replaces Steve Evans, who surprisingly left last week. 

The 50-year-old beat off competition from more than 50 applicants, with his first game in charge at Brentford next weekend.

NBA star Sefolosha acquitted

NBA star Thabo Sefolosha has been found not guilty of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstruction in a court case in New York.

Atlanta Hawks guard Sefolosha was charged after an incident outside a New York nightclub in April in which he broke his leg in a struggle with police after fellow NBA player Chris Copeland was stabbed in the abdomen.

TV presenter Jeff Stelling has been named honorary president of Hartlepool United, replacing Peter Mandelson.

 "Jeff is the highest-profile Pools fan ever and he's the only person for the job," Pools' chief executive Russ Green told the club's official website.

Stelling said: "When I was standing on the terraces as a seven-year-old I never dreamt that one day the club would ask me to be honorary president."

His middle name is Norbert.

How would you spend £260m?

The Football Association has launched its biggest survey into grassroots football as they look to invest a record £260m into the amateur game.

Players, coaches, referees as well as staff and volunteers from a 400,000-strong grassroots football workforce are encouraged to take part.

The FA plans to improve facilities and coaching, as well as increase the number of people taking part.

"This is the FA listening to people," said FA spokesman Tony Snow.

The survey will run to 30 October and those involved involved in the grassroots game can contribute by clicking on this link.

Nigerian star targets sixth Olympics

In an interview with BBC Sportworld, she reveals the secrets of her longevity but has a message for anyone thinking of taking up her sport: “You have to be very, very intelligent to play table tennis because it requires a lot of brain work.”

Moeen 'more than likely' to open

England head coach Trevor Bayliss says Moeen Ali is "more than likely" to open the batting with Alastair Cook in the first Test against Pakistan.

That is despite Moeen being out twice in one day - for seven and 20 - as England toiled on the second and final day of their warm-up match against Pakistan A.

Alex Hales, considered Moeen's main rival for the opening spot, made nine. The first Test begins on Tuesday.

When the Grand Final came of age

At Old Trafford on Saturday, Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors will face each other for the right to be crowned Super League champions.

The two captains - Kevin Sinfield and Sean O'Loughlin - have had their fair share of Grand Final appearances over the years.

Wales will fight fire with fire - Edwards

Assistant coach Shaun Edwards says Wales will fight fire with fire when they face Australia in a decisive Rugby World Cup match on Saturday.

Both teams have already qualified, but the winner of Saturday's match will avoid South Africa in the quarter-finals.

"We want to attack as much as we can, but we know what a potent attacking unit Australia are," Edwards said.

 "We will have to be at our best offensively and defensively."

Bayern are the best - Dortmund boss

Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel tells BBC World Football that Bayern Munich are a step ahead of everyone right now.

Champions Bayern are already seven points above Dortmund.

"They manage to create an atmosphere of greatness,” says Tuchel, who replaced Jurgen Klopp in the summer. “It's their right to be the best."

Former Bayern skipper Lothar Matthaus thinks the race for the Bundesliga is already over and says: “I've never seem them so strong."

Ireland have named their team to face France in the Rugby World Cup Pool D decider.

Both sides have qualified, but the loser is likely to face New Zealand in the quarter-finals.

The team are finalising a split from engine partner Renault but have been unable to secure a replacement on terms that satisfy them.

Mercedes have refused to supply them and Ferrari will not sell them their definitive 2016 engines next year.

Ferrari are offering 2015 engines but Red Bull want parity of performance.

Belgium: the best team in the world?

Seems like an outlandish claim, right? But by our calculations, it could be about to become reality.

Belgium, currently ranked third, are guaranteed to go top of the Fifa rankings if they win both their upcoming Euro qualifiers against Andorra (tomorrow) and Israel (Tuesday). That is because Argentina and Germany, the teams ranked above them, both lost last night.

The Red Devils were ranked 66th at the start of 2010.

Who can forget that memorable BBC poolside interview with the emotional father of Chad le Clos after his son had beaten Michael Phelps to gold at the London Olympics in 2012?

Well, now Le Clos Jr has found a new sporting passion - and he wants to win on the racetrack as much as he does in the swimming pool.

“I am competitive in everything I do, even Fifa,” said the Olympic champion, whose horse, Unbelievable Chad, has already tasted victory.

Massa tops wet second practice

Williams driver Felipe Massa topped an unrepresentative wet second practice at the Russian Grand Prix in which only eight drivers set lap times.

He pipped Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel by 0.201 secs, both displacing Williams' Valtteri Bottas on their final laps.

Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen was fourth ahead of McLaren's Fernando Alonso with times set earlier in the 90 minutes.

Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat, Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz and McLaren's Jenson Button were the others to set times.

Schweinsteiger doubtful for Germany

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger missed Germany's 1-0 defeat by the Republic of Ireland through injury on Thursday.

But coach Joachim Low does not think it will be a long-term problem.

"For Bastian it looks like he may not be able to make it in time for Sunday," Low said. "Two to three days, that's how long he needs to rest so it will be very, very tight."

"Steven Davis put in a man-of-the-match performance that was nothing short of amazing," he said. 

"I can't speak highly enough of him. He doesn't always get the plaudits he should over in England, but I call him the 'ginger maestro'. He's that good."

Liverpool fans should fasten seatbelts - Dalglish

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says Reds fans should "fasten their seatbelts" with new manager Jurgen Klopp at the helm.

Overall, it's a big thumbs up from King Kenny for the new boss. "I'm sure they'll really enjoy him," he says. "I'm sure they'll take him to their heart. He came across very well this morning and I think that augurs well for everybody."

And Dalglish adds: "He seems like someone who is not in love with himself." Ooof! Brendan Rodgers felt that one from his Spanish sun lounger.

The central defender damaged the ligaments in her left ankle during Wednesday's 1-0 defeat away to Brescia in the Champions League.

The Women's Super League One season finished on Sunday, however Bonner will miss this weekend's Continental Cup semi-final against Notts County and the return home leg against Brescia on Wednesday.

Military man Bae leads International fightback

Home hero Bae Sang-moon led the fightback as the International team closed the gap on the USA after a strong second day in the Presidents Cup in South Korea.

The Internationals won three, lost one and halved one of the five fourballs to reduce the deficit to just one point after being 4-1 down overnight, with Bae sinking a 12-foot putt to give him and Danny Lee a one-up win over Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.

Bae is playing in his last tournament before he leaves the golf circuit to complete his two years of compulsory national service in the Korean military.

England have approached me - Mallett

Former South Africa and Italy coach Nick Mallett says he has been approached by the Rugby Football Union about becoming the next England coach - and has turned them down.

According to South African site News 24, Mallett, who currently coaches South African side Blue Bulls, said: “I’m not going to consider it. I was keen for the challenge in 2011, but not anymore. I’m enjoying my current job."

Current coach Stuart Lancaster's future appears uncertain after England were eliminated from the ongoing Rugby World Cup in the group stages.

Sepp Blatter has lodged an appeal against his provisional 90-day ban imposed by Fifa's ethics committee.

Blatter was suspended along with vice-president Michel Platini and secretary general Jerome Valcke while corruption allegations against the trio are investigated.

Blatter's adviser Klaus Stoehlker said: "He is defending his position and he is sure that he will be found not guilty."

Sterling can 'set world alight' - Hart

Joe Hart believes Manchester City team-mate Raheem Sterling has what it takes to be an international superstar.

The 20-year-old winger made a controversial move from Liverpool to the Etihad this summer.

But Hart said: "He has coped with it really well. He is a really good person who has at least 10-15 years left in football and can set the world stage alight."

Sterling and Hart could both figure as England take on Estonia in Euro 2016 qualification at Wembley this evening.

Some closing thoughts from Jurgen Klopp: "I don't compare myself with the genius managers in the history of football. It is cool that you are all looking forward to the next few years with me but it is not my job to do this. 

"None of the great managers said in their first press conference that they wanted to be a legend when I leave here. We have to work in the present."

He says: "It is surreal. But I have to accept this. I don't care about things like this. I am a normal football manager and I want to work with the team and be on the pitch. When I left Dortmund, I felt it was not so important what people think when you come in but what they feel when you leave. 

"I ask, please give us time. If you are patient and are prepared to work, in a special Liverpool way we can be successful. If I am sitting here in four years, we will win one title in this time."

"Everybody knows me," says Jurgen Klopp, which is a fair point given the amount of column inches he's had in the past week. 

"I haven't changed in four months," he promises. "It's a transition game. You will see this. All the things that make football interesting for me. I have said this phrase 'full-throttle' football. It will be this."

'I am the normal one'

Jurgen Klopp was told Jose Mourinho had called himself the special one when he was hired at Chelsea first time around.

"I don't want to describe myself," Klopp said. "I am a totally normal guy. I am the normal one maybe? I had a great opportunity to take Dortmund for seven years. And now I am here. I want to enjoy my work. People have told me a lot about the English press. It is up to you to show me they are all liars."

'From doubters to believers' - Klopp

Yes, Klopp is still talking...

"At the moment, the LFC family is a bit too nervous and pessimistic. It is a great atmosphere in the stadium but they don't believe right now. History is great but only to remember. We need to be as successful as we can be.

"The message to the Liverpool supporters: we have to change from doubters to believers, now."

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill says they can go for a win in Poland that would qualify them automatically for Euro 2016.

Their play-off place was sealed with victory over Germany, effectively giving them nothing to lose in Warsaw.

It may start to feel like a distant memory soon....

Moeen Ali and Alex Hales failed with the bat in England's final warm-up game before the first Test against Pakistan.

With England looking for an opener to partner Alastair Cook, neither managed double figures on the second day against Pakistan A in Sharjah.

Moeen pushed to second slip for seven, and Hales, in his first innings of the tour, edged to first slip for nine.

That left England, who will bat for the entire day, struggling at 16-2 in reply to Pakistan A's score of 192-12.

Both sides made an arrangement that each team bat one day of the two-day, 15-a-side match.

The first of three Tests in the United Arab Emirates begins on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi.

The new LFC? - Klopp

"I am not here to say that against Tottenham we will see the all new LFC. But I hope there will be a little bit of the new LFC. That would be cool. These things take time."

On the transfer policy and set-up at the club: "It is no problem. We have spoken about it and it is nothing. If smart and intelligent guys sit together and they want the same, where is the problem? I don't want to spend money we don't have. Nobody wants to transfer a player without a yes from me."

There are problems, you need to solve them. We have good defenders, strikers and midfielders. First game is Tottenham. We need to make a team for this game. I want these guys."

On what style of football he will bring: "A wild one. In these days in football, all the world-class teams play possession football. I like to watch this. But nobody starts as a ball possession team. The first thing is always to have a stable defence. You can only stay confident when you know each offensive move from the opposition is a goal. Let's try to be the hardest team in the world to beat."

Aguero off on a stretcher

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Argentina in the 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat by Ecuador.

Aguero, who scored five goals in City's win against Newcastle on 3 October, was carried off after 22 minutes.

The 27-year-old is set to have a scan and looks likely to miss Argentina's game against Paraguay next week.

Aguero had only just returned to fitness after a knee injury earlier in the season.

Euro 2016: N.Ireland can 'achieve more - O'Neill

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says the success of qualifying for Euro 2016 proves his team are capable of achieving even more.

O'Neill's side booked their place at a major tournament for the first time since 1986 with a 3-1 win over Greece in Belfast on Thursday.

"The players were outstanding. Right through the team, they were magnificent," he said.

"This shows the potential of this team and of football in Northern Ireland."

Another new Premier League manager?

Well according to the Daily Mirror, it will be a not so new one.

Former Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce, 60, has been offered the job of replacing Dick Advocaat at Sunderland - and apparently the Black Cats are confident he will join them.

"I feel great. Today was a crazy day. It is absolutely a great feeling for me and a great honour to be there. It is one of the best moments of my life. It feels like a dream.

"All I heard and read and felt when I saw matches with Liverpool. I love football and the intensity of football in Liverpool is very, very good for me. I always thought about England and working here because of the style of football and Liverpool was first choice."
