Watford boss Quique Flores has been discussing the threat of the Premier League's top goalscorer Jamie Vardy ahead of the Hornets trip to Leicester on Saturday. 

Watford striker Odion Ighalo is fit to play despite suffering a dead leg last weekend. 

The Hornets could be unchanged and Flores is aware of the threat of Vardy: "It's very difficult to think about Leicester if you're not including Vardy but it's not possible to think of Leicester just in Vardy. For me it's like a collective. It's very important to know the moves of this player. But the moves depend on the collective moves of Leicester. He is helped by his teammates."

Watford boss Quique Flores had to again field questions about Emmanuel Adebayor today. 

The forgotten striker at Tottenham continues to be linked to Watford. In what would seem an unlikely alliance Flores didn't dismiss the reports: "I don't like to talk about players who don't belong to the Watford team.

"But we would welcome every good player. No names but I love players with category, soul, talent - but no names. I respect the players I have in my squad. They are in my mind. I know him. He's very good. He's a good person."

Mourinho loses FA appeal

Jose Mourinho has failed with an appeal against his suspended stadium ban and £50,000 fine for comments made after Chelsea's match against Southampton, the Football Association has announced. 

Mourniho was given the suspended ban, along with a fine, for comments about the referee after his side's defeat to Southampton on 3 October.

Perkins extends Wigan contract

Wigan Athletic have taken up the option on David Perkins' contract, meaning he will stay at the club until 2017.

The 33-year-old midfielder joined in the summer after being released by Blackpool and has played every minute of the Latics' League One campaign.

Gatland 'to leave Wales in 2019'

Warren Gatland has confirmed he is likely to stand down as Wales coach in 2019.

The 52-year-old said he intends to return to his native New Zealand to coach.

"I'm here until 2019 and the plan for me then is definitely to come home for a period," Gatland told New Zealand broadcaster Radio Sport.

"If I was involved in provincial rugby or Super Rugby that would be great but, if I'm not, I may have to go to the beach for six months or 12 months, put my feet up and take a bit of a break. I've been away for long enough."

In his last game of rugby league, Sam Burgess broke his cheekbone in the opening seconds of the match as the South Sydney Rabbitohs beat the Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL Grand Final.

Despite the injury, Burgess carried on to lead the Rabbitohs to their first NRL title in 43 years while becoming the first non-Australian to win the Clive Churchill medal for the man of the match.

Sam Burgess had been given time off by coach Mike Ford, who felt he needed a break after returning to training last week from England's World Cup squad.

He was a surprise inclusion at centre for the hosts during their doomed campaign, which saw them exit the tournament at the group stages.

He has been linked with a move back to Rugby League with South Sydney Rabbitohs and Leeds Rhinos both interested in the player.

Bath had been playing Burgess in the back-row and had been adamant in recent weeks that he would be staying at the club.

England manager Roy Hodgson had his say on the Chris Coleman and Arsene Wenger's row over Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

"Coleman had his opinion on Wenger's comments. He is entitled to air them. I do believe if players return from international duty fit but get injured in a club game you can not blame the international game.

"I have sympathy with Arsene, he lost three players and one does tend to look for every possible reason there could be for that. There is more of an opportunity for club teams to rest players."

Ramsey came off during the win over Bayern Munich, three days after playing 90 minutes at Watford on 17 October. Wenger was unhappy that he played for Wales against Andorra on 13 October.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is speaking to the media ahead of their game against Newcastle on Saturday lunchtime. 

His side lost 2-0 to neighbours Southampton at the weekend. "I've seen a good reaction after Sunday, but I would expect that. The real test of that will be on Saturday."

He's also praised midfielder Harry Arter, who played his first games of the season last week after injury: "He has given everyone a boost. You can see the impact he's had on the team", he said. "He has made a good return so far, but I think there's more to come from him."

Roy Hodgson said he will not be swayed on where Leicester and the Premier League's top scorer Jamie Vardy, should play in the team.

His team-mate Kasper Schmeichel believes Vardy should play as a central striker, rather than being stuck out wide.

Hodgson said: "Jamie has only played a handful of games for England, he should be happy to be in the squad and even happier if he makes the team. He has a job to convince us he has the ability to play as a centre forward and not get too hung up about where he plays."

Roy Hodgson on England's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney: "It was good to see him score a goal, it has been a difficult time for him, nice to see him score the crucial winner in a Champions League match.

"He has just turned 30, equaled Denis Law's record and it has been an autumn of milestones and I rejoice for him.

Hodgson then refused to get involved in the debate surrounding Louis Van Gaal's system at Manchester United and whether it hinders Rooney.

When asked is Wanyama going to be a big miss for the squad, Koeman responded with a fairly cutting -

"He is always starting but that means that he is an important player for the team in that defensive midfield position. He has is one of the key players. But we have enough competition in the squad to replace Wanyama in the squad."

Championship leader Valentino Rossi will start Sunday's final MotoGP race of the season from the back of the grid after his penalty was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).

Italian Rossi, 36, was given the punishment after clashing with Honda rider Marc Marquez in Malaysia.

The nine-time world champion appealed to Cas and hoped to be able to qualify as normal for the race in Valencia.

He leads Spain's Jorge Lorenzo by seven points, with 25 available for a win.

The Mirror are reporting that Southampton are set to fight Arsenal for attacking midfielder Juan Quintero. 

The 22-year-old Porto player, who is currently on loan at French club Rennes, is a long-term target for Saints boss Ronald Koeman - after missing out on him last January.

Klopp targets German duo?

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling, 31, according to the Express (in German). 

And Klopp is also keen to bring Barcelona's German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, 23, to Anfield next season, say Sport (in Spanish).

Vardy nominated for player of the year

Jamie Vardy is having quite a year. He helped keep Leicester up last season, got called up to the England squad and is now the Premier League's top scorer.

And now the striker has been nominated for the Football Supporters' Federation's player of the year award.

Vardy is up against David De Gea, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and John Stones for the award.

Scotland back-row Alasdair Strokosch is retiring from international rugby.

A fitting tribute

World Cup winning All Blacks including Dan Carter, Sonny Bill Williams and Ma'a Nonu have been pictured at Jerry Collins' grave with the Webb Ellis trophy, on what would have been Collins' 35th birthday.

The former All Black and his wife died in a car crash in France in June.

Carter posted this picture on Instagram and wrote: "Good to share this one with the brother. Love you JC."

Making Sam's mind up

Rugby league turned rugby union, potentially turning back to rugby league, but maybe staying in rugby union player, Sam Burgess has not asked to leave Bath, says the club's owner.

Burgess, 26, was part of England's poor showing at the World Cup and has been linked with a move back to former NRL club the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Super League champions Leeds Rhinos have said they would bid for him less than a year after switching codes.

"He is with us for the next two years and is under contract," said Bruce Craig. "No-one has come in for Sam."

Jose Mourinho has had a season from hell, what with defeats, an impending law suit and numerous FA charges.

But his agent Jorge Mendes says the Chelsea boss will turn things around.

"He doesn't need to prove anything to anybody," the Portuguese's adviser Jorge Mendes told BBC Sport.

"He knows what to do. Many people are saying these things but there is no chance [he will leave]. He will solve the problem. He is the best."

Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth are five shots off Branden Grace's lead after day one of the WGC-HSBC Champions.

South African Grace's nine-under 63 gave him a one-shot lead over three players in Shanghai, while USA's Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed and England's Danny Willett are two back.

McIlroy played despite struggling this week with food poisoning.

"It was probably a little better than I was expecting out there to be honest," the world number three said.

The BBC's Overseas Sports Personality will this year be decided by a public vote for the first time. 

An expert panel - including Olympic gold medallist and 1972 Sports Personality of the Year Dame Mary Peters, England Rugby World Cup winner Maggie Alphonsi, former Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and ex-footballer Ian Wright - will draw up a shortlist of six contenders for the award. 

That shortlist will be announced on the BBC Sport website on Friday, 27 November and you can vote online for free from Friday, 27 November, using a BBCiD.

Manchester City were reported to Uefa after fans were heard booing the Champions League anthem in a group game against Sevilla last month. 

In the return tie on Wednesday, City fans did the same ahead of the game as well as holding up 'Boo' banners.

However, this time around Uefa say there was nothing in the report they received for the match and will not be investigating.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilicdoes not seem too worried about the attacking threat of Everton, despite the Toffees beating Sunderland 6-2 on Sunday.

"Everton won 6-2 last week and it was a weird game. Sunderland started well, then Everton scored two goals."

"It went to 2-2 and Everton looked shaky, but when they scored the third and fourth, it could have been nine, 10.

"They are full of confidence, but so are we because we are a team who are playing well and will be at home."

Slaven Bilic has arrived and has confirmed that Diafra Sakho (thigh injury) and Alex Song (match fitness) will miss the Everton match, but Winston Reid will be in the match-day squad,

Sakho, who has a small tear in his thigh, is expected to return after the international break 

Song will play a friendly on Wednesday to build up his match fitness.

Roberto Martinez reports that left-back Leighton Baines and midfielder Tom Cleverley are back in full training but won't be rushed into first-team action. Baines, in particular, lacks match sharpness so is unlikely to be involved at West Ham.

Costa Rican Brian Oviedo is likely to be out for two or three weeks with a minor hamstring problem, while veteran defender Tony Hibbert should be available again after international break.

Chris Coleman's team have been unceremoniously dropped out of the top 10 of Fifa World Rankings.

Belgium have taken November's top spot, shifting Argentina down to third behind Germany who don't budge from second.

Further down the list, England have somehow moved up one place to ninth, as have Austria (10th). 

Wales however, who were eighth in October, have moved down to 15th. 

Northern Ireland are up six places to 29th, but Scotland have dropped four to 44th.

Before you ask, we have very little clue as to how they work these rankings out despite many teams having yet to play since the last rankings. Actually, we do have something of a clue but it's very complicated and rumour has it involves a abacus and Simon Cowell's moods...

'Disheartening day for black coaches'

The sackings of Chris Powell and Chris Ramsey were "disheartening", says anti-racism campaigner Troy Townsend.

Powell departed Huddersfield and Ramsey left QPR to leave four managers from black, Asian and minority ethnic (BME) backgrounds in the top four divisions.

Last week the FA's newly appointed BME boss Wayne Allison said he wanted to increase the number of black coaches.

Townsend said: "I know people will say results are not right but there is a lot more to it than that."

Control of the England team should be removed from the Rugby Football Union, says former centre Simon Halliday.

The ex-RFU board member has called for "serious structural change" to improve the fortunes of the the national side.

The RFU, led by chief executive Ian Ritchie, is conducting a review into England's early World Cup exit.

Hibs advance to semi-finals

Hibernian strolled impressively into the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup with a commanding victory over Premiership outfit Dundee United.

A thumping first-half hit from full-back David Gray, a Jason Cummings penalty on the hour and a deflected Lewis Stevenson shot in the last seconds put Alan Stubbs' team into the last four.

United had a chance to make a fight of it when Simon Murray was put through 12 minutes from time, but Mark Oxley in the Hibs goal denied the striker.
