Two days after Carlisle United staff began the clear up of flooded home ground Brunton Park, the club have made their most bizarre discovery yet - three Koi Carp swimming in the goalmouth.

Groundsman Dave Mitchell was helping repair the damage caused by Storm Desmond, which began on 4 December, when he found the fish at the Waterworks End of the League Two club's ground.

    Ranieri goes globalpublished at 13:35

    Leicester v Chelsea (20:00 GMT)

    Ian Stringer
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

"This was the busiest press conference I remember with Claudio answering questions in his native tongue as well as fielding interest from our friends in Australia.

"The Foxes boss confirmed he is without Ritchie De Laet who has an ankle problem as well as the long term knee injury which sees midfielder Matty James continues his rehabilitation.

"Clearly many of the questions were about Claudio’s former employers and Monday’s opposition Chelsea. He said he believes Jose’s men will finish in the top 4 and admitted he won’t entertain talk of anything but 40 points for the table toppers.

"When asked whether fun is important to his approach as a manager (given he recently bought the players pizza for their first clean sheet and the stars themselves enjoyed a couple of days off in Copenhagen at the weekend dressed as Ninja Turles) the Italian put it beautifully ‘you see me smiling but also I can (gestures his fist) – there are two hands, one hand I am careful and with the other I am very strong’."

    'First-class' Watmore graduatespublished at 13:25

    Football

Sunderland forward Duncan Watmore has thanked his club after becoming only the second player in the Premier League to graduate with first-class honours.

The 21-year-old balanced training sessions with long hours of study in the evening.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce allowed him a day off training to collect his first in economics and business management at Newcastle University.

After the the graduation ceremony, he said: "It's a really nice feeling. It has been a lot of hard work in the past three years. It is good to get it done.

"It was hard at times but the club at Sunderland were awesome with me, and so were Newcastle University. They were both always willing to compromise to help me to get through, they were massive in what I achieved and so I'm very grateful for that."

Bolton seek to avoid administrationpublished at 13:18

Bolton Wanderers have considered a number of ideas to prevent the club going into administration, says boss Neil Lennon.

To do so would mean an automatic 12-point penalty and Lennon admitted they would also inevitably be a "League One team" next season as a result.

"It's not ideal for a manager obviously for the position that we're in, but the club's future is the priority rather than the present," the 44-year-old told BBC Radio Manchester.

Watford head coach Quique Floresbelieves inFrenchman Etienne Capouehe has one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

The former Tottenham midfielder has been instrumental in the Hornets fine start to the season.

“For me he is one of the best midfielders in the league in terms of the quality he's showing this season," said Flores.

The most important thing for a midfielder is the capacity to control the midfield. Capoue in every performance is a very, very expensive, very, very important player….physically, technically and mentally. We are very happy with Capoue."

Capoue has yet to score but Flores feels the goals will come:  "He has opportunities because (out) of the midfielders he is one of the players to connect with the strikers. He is always around the box and some day the goals of Capoue are coming."

    Geoff Doyle
    BBC Three Counties Radio sport

Watford head coach Quique Floresisn’t looking up just yet despite his side’s fabulous start to the Premier League season.

The Hornets are 10th in the table and with 22 points are closer to a Champions League position than the relegation zone. But at the moment it means nothing to Flores:

"The objective is the same; to stay in the division. That way we can grow a lot in the future. The sum of the points we have now is very nice, it's giving a lot of confidence to the players but we need to keep on.

"It’s very important we don't change, so at the moment it’s necessary to keep the target.”
