    Toby Perkins

So the question of replacing God Save the Queen as England's national anthem for sporting events was raised in the House of Commons today - hence our debate on your ideas for alternatives.

I'll leave our colleagues on BBC News' Politics Live page to steer you through the nitty gritty, but in essence this is what happened:

Labour MP Toby Perkins presented the case for (Jerusalem is an "early favourite") and Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg spoke against. For Rees-Mogg singing a "jolly tune" such as Jerusalem was "not dignified" before the start of cricket matches. And the fact that it wasn't sung at Lords was "a sign of the correct order of things"...

    Jacob Rees-Mogg

The bill will return to parliament on Friday, 4 March -  but before then you can have your say in our (slightly tongue in cheek) vote on the top-right hand side of the page...

His showings this season suggest he might just be - especially that performance in Arsenal's crunch Champions League game at Olympiakos.

Although quite a few people might have expected to see the Costa Rica forward go out on loan again this year, manager Arsene Wenger has other ideas.

"I flat-refused to let him go because I saw something in him that gives you belief, because of his attitude," Wenger said. "After Olympiakos, in a game where we were like that, knife on the throat, he turned up with something special."

South Africa v England, third Test, Thursday

New South Africa Test captain AB de Villiers says he is "not sure" if he wants to remain in charge beyond the Test series against England.

De Villiers, 31, replaced Hashim Amla, who resigned after last week's drawn second Test with England in Cape Town.

"My focus is on international cricket and I want to play for as long as possible," he said.

"I'm still very committed. To the job? I'm not sure. The two Test matches for now is all I'm focusing on."

The third Test in Johannesburg begins on Thursday, with England leading 1-0 in the four-match series.

Here's a couple more of your... ideas.

Chris 9121892: How about the Four Seasons and "Stay" (just a little bit longer) as the anthem for the England football team in Euros?

Ian Morrison: National anthem for England? How about Manamana by the Muppets. Perfect for any England sports team.

Chris Harmer: Just listened to Jerusalem, goosebumps all over. God Save The Queen is outdated and boring. No contest.
