    Only fools and horses

Your suggestions for a new English national anthem, as MPs prepare to debate whether to replace God Save the Queen in sporting events...

Gareth Jenkinson: Only Fools and Horses theme tune. I would quite happily stand up and sing that, loud and proud.

Tom Taylor: Has to be Land of Hope and Glory seeing as it has been used in rugby and '10 Commonwealth Games!

Nick Moores: God Save the Queen is a proper bangin' tune. Why change it?

Mike Corris: As a Welshman, I think Jerusalem fits in much better with Land of My Fathers and Flower of Scotland as a proper anthem. GSTQ is just awful, to every extent.

With MPs set to debate whether to replace God Save the Queen as England's national anthem for sporting events, we asked for your suggestions for a replacement.

Bad Banjo Botherer: For all its pomp and circumstance Land of Hope and Glory is perfect. Plus faster and more fun to sing than God Save the Queen.

Harry Watt: Jerusalem for England national anthem. Nothing else comes close. The cricket has shown how good an anthem it is.

Gary Blackwood: I may be the only one but I like God Save the Queen! It's fantastic when the whole crowd/pub is singing it before a big game.
