    Maro Itoje could replace former captain Chris Robshaw in England's back row for Saturday's opening Test against Australia in Brisbane.

    The 21-year-old Saracens lock practised in Robshaw's position of blindside flanker on Monday as coach Eddie Jones considers his options.

    Robshaw, who captained England 42 times before being replaced by Dylan Hartley, missed last month's rout of Wales.

    England face the Wallabies, runners-up at the 2015 World Cup, in three Tests.

    Yesterday Chelsea claimed the former first team doctor "rejected" a £1.2m settlement from the club.

    Carneiro is claiming constructive dismissal and is also bringing separate legal action against Jose Mourinho.

    The moment of redemption for David Beckham and a hairstyle that was copied in schools all over the country.

    Four years after he was sent-off against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup, Beckham was the hero in Japan's Sapporo Dome.

    He scored a penalty against Argentina just before half-time to give England a crucial win at the 2002 World Cup.

    Sven-Goran Eriksson's side went on to reach the quarter-finals, where they lost to Brazil.

    Mark Sampson's side eased to a 7-0 win against Serbia at Wycombe's Adam's Park to move one point behind Group 7 leaders Belgium with a game in hand.

    Jordan Nobbs is out of the game because of a hamstring injury.

    England's Euro 2016 squad is the most exciting since the World Cup winning team of 1966, says Sir Geoff Hurst.

    Hurst scored a hat-trick in that World Cup final victory 50 years ago and praised the current crop of players as they arrived at their base in Chantilly, France.

    Roy Hodgson's squad has an average age of 25 - the youngest at the tournament.

    Hurst said: "It's the most exciting squad since '66 - people like Dele Alli have come in and been very refreshing."

    Jamie Vardy potentially leaving Leicester City and joining Arsenal would be "catastrophic" for the Premier League champions, according to former Foxes defender Gerry Taggart.

    England striker Vardy, 29, is deciding over a reported £120,000-a-week, external offer from the Gunners.  

    "If Jamie goes then one or two others might want to leave as well," ex-Northern Ireland international Taggart told BBC Radio 5 live. "The whole Leicester ethos over the last couple of seasons has been built around people like Vardy."

    There was Copa America action in the early hours of this morning as Argentina played Chile and it was an emotional game for former Manchester United winger Angel di Maria.

    His grandmother passed away shortly before the game, but the winger decided to play and scored the opener, celebrating the goal by holding up a shirt with the words 'Granny, I will miss you so much' on it.

    Ever Banega also scored as Argentina won 2-1, with Lionel Messi staying on the bench as he recovers from a back injury.

    Britain's former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis and actor Will Smith will be pallbearers at Muhammad Ali's funeral on Friday.

    London-born Lewis, 50, became undisputed world champion in 1999, while American Smith, 47, played Ali in the 2001 film of the same name.

    Three-time heavyweight world champion Ali died last Friday at the age of 74 in hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

    His funeral will be held in his home town of Louisville, Kentucky.
