    West Ham have made an official request to reverse the dates of their Europa League third qualifying round to allow extra time to prepare the Olympic Stadium for it's first competitive match.

    The London Anniversary Games is being held at the venue on 22 and 23 July - with the first leg of the European tie on July 28.

    Should the request be approved, either Shakhtyor Soligorsk of Belarus or NK Domzale of Slovenia would visit London for the second leg on Thursday, 4 August.

    France Football, external are reporting that Leicester City could make a late bid for Belgium midfielder and Everton target Axel Witsel.

    Everton have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old - currently at Zenit St Petersburg - all summer, but the French report claim Leicester want him as a replacement for N'Golo Kante, who is mulling over signing a new contract with the club.

    The France playmaker, 29, was considered hot property this summer, after a productive first season in the Premier League, followed by an impressive Euro 2016 campaign.

    But Payet told The Sun:, external "I’ve heard about all the interest and I’m flattered. But I love West Ham. We had a fantastic season and I can’t wait to play in the Olympic Stadium.

    “I’m 100% staying at West Ham, I love the club. I can tell the Hammers fans that.”

    Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller felt "useless" in his position as the central attacker in Germany's 2-0 defeat to France during Euro 2016.

    Muller, 26, was tipped to be one of the stars at the tournament but he failed to score a goal in six games.

    "I roved about too much," Muller told Sueddeutsche., external "[I should have accepted] I was deployed as a central attacker and might be without a touch for 20 minutes. I didn't do that."
