It looks as though Fulham’s Sone Aluko is on his way to Reading for £7.5m. He was an impressive player in the Whites’ campaign last year, but the club will feel it is good business if they can replace him in the coming days.

Sheyi Ojo has already come in for the season on loan from Liverpool and was impressive in the 2-0 win at Portman Road on Saturday, with Jota also being linked with a switch from neighbours Brentford.

Having scored a last minute goal to beat Fulham in 2014, it would be ironic if this were to be one of those classic late deadline day deals.

Reading have agreed a deal for winger Sone Aluko from Fulham. The deal is worth £7.5m.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international played 36 games for the Cottagers last season, scoring six goals, having joined on a free from Hull.

Crystal Palace retain a strong interest in bringing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho back to Selhurst Park before Thursday's transfer deadline after his successful loan spell last season.

The 27-year-old France defender is an outcast at Anfield after falling from favour with manager Jurgen Klopp before the start of last season - although Liverpool will demand £30m for Sakho.

Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion are also interested in Sakho but it is believed a return to London would be his favoured option if a deal can be agreed.

Sakho established himself as a big favourite at Selhurst Park during his loan spell last season under Sam Allardyce, helping Palace escape from relegation.

Palace have started the season with three Premier League defeats under new manager Frank de Boer and are now considering whether to bring Sakho back in an attempt to end their early struggles.

The Leicester Mercury reports, external that Craig Shakespeare's side have offered a staggering - even in today's market - £27m for Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend.
