  1. Bye for nowpublished at 15:11

Another fabulous day at the Bird's Nest and almost every story unfolded as the majority of people would have wished. There were tears from Katarina Johnson-Thompson after her heptathlon hopes ended in the long jump, but Jessica Ennis-Hill recaptured heptathlon gold, while Usain Bolt reminded us just what a special human he is.

You can watch the 100m final - and Ennis-Hill winning gold - again on this website, while the day's highlights will also be online and on BBC Two from 19:00 BST so join Gabby Logan, Michael Johnson and Daley Thompson for that.

That's all from us. Thanks again for your contributions. Until tomorrow...

"Hopefully there will be more to come with the 200m for Usain Bolt later in the week. He could dominate these championships and that would be very welcome for anybody with a semblance of feeling for this sport."

"The experience of hearing that national anthem while you're on the podium is one of the things that motivates me each day in training.

"What really drives me on is winning medals and getting records. To be called one of the greatest you've got to win Olympic titles, I've done that and I just want to keep enjoying my sport.

"I'm feeling a little bit tired to be honest, but that happens after a race like that. It was emotional. I've got three days to recover before the 5000m, then I'l go out and give 100 per cent. I'm enjoying it here, there's a great team spirit here, I'll keep smiling and keep doing what I'm doing."

  6. Mo Farah reflects on his 10,000m goldpublished at 15:04

Here's what world champion Mo Farah had to say earlier about his 10,000m victory:

"It's been a long season and it's important to do what I do, and to represent my country and to win medals. I enjoyed it last night, it was hard but I dug in deep and worked it out with the right tactics. It was great to get the country started with a first gold medal of the championships.

"Every medal is different and for me, I enjoy winning medals for my country this one is more enjoyable because it's been a hard season. It would have been nice to have my family here with me, but that wasn't possible because my wife is expecting."

  11. So why is Jessica Ennis-Hill just so good?published at 14:56 British Summer Time 23 August 2015

    Michael Johnson
BBC Sport athletics expert & 400m world record holder

"It's her balance of emotions, she is able to keep everything in perspective and be competitive without being overly-aggressive, because that can hurt you. How you control your emotions is a big part of that, and younger athletes have to learn that skill."

"That would be an incredible story for her to come out with a medal in the long jump, having had a poor performance in the heptathlon. She's missed an opportunity in the heptathlon here but she can rectify things in the long jump later this week."
