After scraping through with an 11.31 clocking, Imani Lansiquot tells BBC Sport: "It's a huge relief. My gran and grandad are here somewhere. I'm actually happy with the run as I've been coming back from injury and have been trying to keep the confidence up. It's my first world championships and a semi-final so I am chuffed.

"I want to put my best foot forward. It's my first time and I believe I belong here."

Tori Bowie is left in the blocks, not the best run, true to form, but she is through in third place.

Mujinga Kambundi of Switzerland wins the heat in 11.17.

Tori Bowie of the US is the big name in the fifth heat.

The reigning champion has still yet to return to her best form after a year-long lay-off with a torn quad sustained at the Prefontaine Classic in May 2018.

    So Bowie is under pressure.

This is my position today having been moved up to the gods.

You can just about make out Dina-Asher Smith before she cruised to victory - you can!

By the way, I haven't caught a glimpse of 'Avram Grant' today, so far.

  20. A job well done...published at 14:55 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

The idea will be to come in here for an athlete, get out of the blocks well, drive it for 20-30 metres and when you're in control and can relax, go ahead and do so. Dina Asher-Smith never found herself under any threat at all. A really, good, solid run.

In the next round she will have to pick it up a little bit but this was an easy qualification.
