    Men's 20km racewalk final (21:30 BST)

Tom Bosworth speaking to BBC TV: "For the race [in 2017] to go as badly as it did, I hadn't prepared for that at all.

"It left scars on me that I didn't realise for a long time were there. That was when I decided the only way out of this was to take my own life.

"I thought I was doing everybody a favour.

"After a couple of attempts, Harry (Tom's fiance) said 'enough is enough, we need to get you some help'.

"Without Harry getting me to make that phone call to British Athletics to get some help, I don't know if I'd be sat here now."

As for tonight's race, a much happier Bosworth said: "I've prepared well and I've got nothing to be stressed about. There's nothing more I can do right now and that's why I'm confident and happy."

    Men's 20km racewalk final (21:30 BST)

In action later tonight is Great Britain's Tom Bosworth.

He was disqualified while leading the race at the London 2017 World Championships, and later struggled with his mental health, culminating in him attempting to take his own life last year.

Thankfully, he's now in a much better place and he's unconcerned about his relatively modest season’s best of 1:20:53 going into tonight's race, which is only the 53rd fastest in the world this year.

It's a week to the day that this championships began with a bang. No, I don't mean when one of the marathon runners hit the wall at 1am, but when the action started inside the wonderfully air-conditioned Khalifa Stadium.

A week later it's that little bit cooler in Doha - 35C - before the final road events, the men's 20km walk, later, and men's marathon which is on Saturday.

Saturday's men's marathon has resulted in diversions which means the roads are rammed again, more so on this first day of the Qatari weekend.

All part of the fun though.
