A relentless attack. Blistering right hands and upper cuts. Fedor Chudinov's resilience was broken and George Groves punches the air.

  3. 'At last'published at 22:00 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Round 6: Groves v Chudinov

We asked if Groves would need to step on the pace to make sure the cut over his eye does not become significant.

That is what he does at the start of the sixth. He lands and Chudinov is stuck flat-footed in the ring, taking lefts and rights at a frantic pace. A beautiful right hook from Groves starts it all off, another left does some damage, an uppercut through the gate lands and then it is just a blur of punches.

The Londoner senses the finish, he must land 15 to 20 unanswered punches and it is all over. Stopped.

    Groves is a world champion.

    Round 5: Groves v Chudinov

Will the cut be the defining moment in this clash? The blood is dripping down, close to Groves' eye, and considering that, Groves is doing well to charge forward as he doubles up with a successful left-round combination.

Will the cut, not Groves, last the distance? Groves may well need to attack to make sure it doesn't become a factor.

    Round 4: Groves v Chudinov

A crushing right hook from Groves doesn't cleanly hit the face of Chudinov but does enough to shake the Russian.

Groves now has a big target on his face as he has a cut just over his left eye. It looks to have come from a clash of heads and nothing sinister.

At the end of the round, Shane McGuigan tells Groves "this could be easy, you are making it hard for yourself."

  13. 'Groves is conserving energy'published at 21:50 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Round 3: Groves v Chudinov

    Steve Bunce
Boxing pundit on BBC Radio 5 live at Bramall Lane

Groves is breathing heavily as his opponent. It's a hard and draining fight. At least I thought George conserved his energy a bit more in that round. I think he's winning the rounds.

    Round 3: Groves v Chudinov

Groves tees up an uppercut, but the Russian sees it coming and is smart enough to get out of thew way.

The third round is a bit calmer to a frantic earlier six minutes, but Chudinov does land with a right to the head near the end.

Both men are going to be absolutely shattered if it keeps going like this. A lot of energy spent, neither man has been in too much trouble though.

Groves has been in 28 fights compared to only 15 for Chudinov. Will the extra experience play a factor?

    Round 2: Groves v Chudinov

    Luke Reddy
BBC Sport boxing reporter at Bramall Lane

This is a scrap. Chudinov coming forward like an army in a Game of Thrones scene. No inch given. Groves has barely left the ropes.

    Round 2: Groves v Chudinov

    Steve Bunce
Boxing pundit on BBC Radio 5 live at Bramall Lane

George has been in title fights at all levels. He should be slightly more composed. Chudinov has put him under pressure but not that much.

    Round 2: Groves v Chudinov

Not the opening six minutes Groves would have been hoping for. Again in the second, the Russian has centre ground, with Groves forced back on to the ropes, desperately throwing punches to get himself out of trouble.

It has been fast and frantic. This Russian is looking like a tricky customer.
