He actually looks like a very clinical and technical boxer. Floyd Mayweather is not used to being bullied like this.

    Round 3: Mayweather v McGregor

Considering this is his first professional boxing match, considering he is up against a legend who has won all 49 fights, this is a sensational start from McGregor. He may well have won all three of the rounds he has ever boxed professionally.

However, Floyd Mayweather is not exactly looking too worried on his stall.

    Round 3: Mayweather v McGregor

Mayweather looks to dive in and plant a right into the body of McGregor. That seems to be where he has had success, albeit, limited.

    Round 3: Mayweather v McGregor

The Irish fans are the ones making the noise as they try to get behind their man. We have seen very little from Mayweather so far, but there is a long, long way to go.

  5. Can Mayweather knock out McGregor?published at 05:22 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

Mayweather aims to knock out his Irish opponent but, aged 40, does the technically talented boxer pack enough power to stop McGregor?

The five-weight world champion hasn't halted an opponent before the final bell for six years.

That was when he fought Victor Ortiz in September 2011, when Mayweather won in controversial circumstances after he threw a sucker punch when Ortiz offered a glove of respect.

Prior to that, his last knockout victim was Britain's Ricky Hatton in 2007.

That's the most uncomfortable two rounds I've ever seen Mayweather box in. It's just the size difference he's struggling with.

    Round 2: Mayweather v McGregor

Mayweather dives in, thinking he needs to do something, but catches one from McGregor for his efforts. At the end of the round, Mayweather has to defend. McGregor goes back to his corner with a big smile on his face.

    Round 2: Mayweather v McGregor

A quick shuffle of the feet from McGregor is certainly not what was predicted. The younger man has made a good start, and has so far avoided taking any heavy punches from the American.

  9. No first-round win for McGregor this timepublished at 05:19 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

It's been well documented Conor McGregor has never stepped inside a boxing ring before today, but his UFC record is something to marvel at - of his 24 fights, the Irishman has won 13 of them inside the first round.

In fact, it took McGregor just 13 seconds to knock out Jose Aldo and win the UFC featherweight title in December 2015.

He's already exceeded my expectations. That was fascinating to see him hit Mayweather on the counter.

    Round 1: Mayweather v McGregor

Very much a watching brief in the opening three minutes from Mayweather, who does little attacking, preferring instead to see what his opponent is made of.

Very nervous from the American, while McGregor did land a tasty-looking uppercut and has maybe taken round one. Anyone expect that?

    Round 1: Mayweather v McGregor

Mayweather throws a punch and McGregor looks at him with complete disdain, of someone who had the cheek to try to hit him. Extreme confidence from the boxing newcomer.

    Round 1: Mayweather v McGregor

McGregor, as many expected, looks to attack straight away. Mayweather is forced straight back on to the ropes, guard high, trying to avoid any early, costly mistakes.

  15. 'A clean fight under boxing rules'published at 05:14 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

Referee Robert Byrd says "this will be a world class, clean fight under boxing rules". "Obey my commands at all time. Mr McGregor, Mr Mayweather, let's do this."

  16. 'McGregor looks calm and composed'published at 05:13 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

    Michael Page
MMA star for BBC Radio 5 live in Las Vegas

I think Conor McGregor looks a lot more calm, composed and focused than in his UFC days.

That's what he needs to be.

  17. The Money Beltpublished at 05:12 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

It is a huge boxing fight so there must be some belts on the line then? Well, not officially as Mayweather has not fought in two years and McGregor has not boxed professionally. Ever.

So the World Boxing Council decided to make up this 'Money Belt'. It is an incredible piece of work as well. The belt is made of crocodile leather, has 1.5kg of 24 kt gold, 3,360 diamonds, 600 sapphires and 160 emeralds.

    Snazzy.

  18. Will McGregor have the last laugh?published at 05:12 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

Conor McGregor has been widely mocked in the boxing circles.

A bizarre warm-up technique got everyone talking as it saw him at a media workout flinging his shoulders wildly round in circles.

David Haye was one of those to mercilessly mock McGregor as you can see in this video. (BBC Sport app users may need to click on the link to see the video).

  20. Will Mayweather-McGregor be one-sided?published at 05:09 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

To say Conor McGregor is an underdog for his fight with Floyd Mayweather is an understatement.

The Irishman has never fought in a boxing ring with a man who some of the world's best boxers have struggled to unravel.

Yet, McGregor believes he can accomplish what 49 others have failed to do on his debut, despite many doubters.

And former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis is one of them. Do you agree?
