Conor McGregor was pictured earlier on wearing a very snazzy blue suit.

Well, he is clearly attached to that suit as he starts his warm-up while still wearing a hugely-expensive watch and those suit trousers. The man is ultra smooth.

  2. Will 8oz gloves make a difference?published at 04:31 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

Any fight at the light-middleweight (154lbs) division is usually contested with 10oz gloves for safety reasons.

McGregor, who is used to fighting in fingerless 4oz gloves, said the fight would have a quicker ending if they fought in a pair of 8oz tools, which Mayweather agreed to and wrote to the Nevada State Athletic commission for a one-off permission.

The theory is that the lighter gloves favour the heavier punchier, which you could assume would be an advantage to McGregor, although Mayweather is hardly a weak puncher himself.

  3. 'As an event, it's as crazy and entertaining as it can get'published at 04:28 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

BBC Radio 5 live boxing pundit in Las Vegas

As a boxing event it's a non-starter, as a sporting event it's about as crazy and entertaining as it can get.

What's going to happen in about 55 minutes is the two of them are going to be topless in that ring with these tiny eight ounce gloves and they're going to start hurting each other.

There is every chance Floyd Mayweather will nail Conor McGregor and will hurt Conor McGregor, at some point some people will stop laughing because there will be blood and there will be a fight - even if it's one-sided.

  4. 'Kazakh Conor McGregor' cashing in on the hypepublished at 04:24 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

You know it is a big fight when the lookalikes go out and about.

BBC Sport meets Islam Badurgov, a fitness fanatic from Kazakhstan, who is making the most of the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor hype as a McGregor lookalike, thanks to a few fantastic stick-on tattoos, which are surely a great Christmas present for anyone.

We have Carl Frampton posing for photographs, while clasping programmes. Actor Gerard Butler is in here too. The place is filling up nicely now, though I must say it's far from a bear pit atmosphere.

  7. 'McGregor win would be boxing's biggest upset'published at 04:14 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

    Mike Costello
BBC Radio 5 live boxing commentator in Las Vegas

If Conor McGregor were to win it would be the single biggest upset in the history of boxing, given the status and calibre of the opponent he's fighting.

More than half of Floyd Mayweather's career has consisted of world title wins. This is as big as anything we have covered here.

But first, we just have to highlight what Gervonta Davis is wearing on his way to the ring.

OK, we can all go home. Gervonta Davis' headwear wins the night.

    Turn out the lights.

But let's focus now on the main event of Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor.

  14. Postpublished at 04:01 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

We have one fight to come before the main event of Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor.

The last fight is Gervonta Davis v Francisco Fonseca and Davis has made the cardinal sin of any boxer, by losing his belt on the scales, as he could not make the weight limit for his IBF world super-featherweight championship.

Costa Rica's Fonseca will take the belt if he wins, while the title will remain vacant if American Davis triumphs.

  15. Jack was punch perfect - Hearnpublished at 03:58 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

Promoter Eddie Hearn spoke on Nathan Cleverly's behalf after he lost his WBA light-heavyweight world title.

He told Sky Sports Box Office: "Nearly everything from the second round went wrong. Badou Jack was punch perfect.

"Nathan stood in front of him for far too long. He started every round from there very quickly and Nathan couldn't keep up with him.

"A good performance from Badou Jack but Nathan will be disappointed with that."

  17. I had to go for the kill - Jackpublished at 03:42 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

Here's what the new WBA light-heavyweight world champion Badou Jack had to say after his fifth round stoppage of Welshman Nathan Cleverly.

"It's a dream come true," said Jack. "It's good to have a world title belt back. I couldn't leave it to the judges, I had to go for the kill."

  18. CLEVERLY LOSES IN FIFTH ROUNDpublished at 03:35 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

It is all over and Nathan Cleverly's time as WBA light-heavyweight champion is over. He made a decent start against Badou Jack, but the Swedish fighter took complete control in the fourth round and Cleverly was lucky to make it to the end of the round.

But, with blood streaming from the nose, a cut around the eye and his face in a mess, the referee has no option but to end the contest.

    Round 5: Cleverly v Jack

Jack is teeing up on Cleverly and hitting the Welshman at will. Only a generous referee has kept this going on, some would have stopped this.
