So where next for both men? The door is open for another shot at a world title for Anthony Crolla, but the rebuilding process will take a bit longer for Ricky Burns.

However, he thought he had done enough for the verdict and there was no hint of retirement from the 34-year-old Scot.

Crolla also hinted at a potential rematch in Glasgow, and I'm sure there would be a lot of people interested in that one.

Former WBC world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew agrees with the decision, although he admits it was on a knife edge.

Ricky Burns weighs in with his thoughts on the decision.

"I thought it was close I thought I'd done enough and was landing the cleaner shots," he said in the ring.

"I'm a bit gutted but if Eddie (Hearn) and Anthony are up for it, let's go to Scotland for a rematch. Let's do it. I'm sorry Anthony but I thought I got this one."

Crolla interjects to say: "In a hard fight you're going say that but for me it was quality over quantity that got me the win."

Crolla throws three shots to the body, but the Burns guard is good and he comes back with a left hook and a straight right.

Burns comes back with a flurry of his own late on. So so hard to call. We could well be seeing this one again in the future. Good stuff in Manchester.
