  1. The story so far: Anthony Crollapublished at 22:20 British Summer Time 7 October 2017

    Anthony Crolla v Ricky Burns

Anthony Crolla's career could have finished three years ago when he was hospitalised following a burglary incident at his neighbour's house in December 2014.

However, the 30 year-old former British champion recovered to upgrade his status to world champion following a draw and then a victory over Colombia's Darleys Perez to lift the WBA lightweight title almost 12 months after being attacked.

He successfully defended that belt with a stoppage of Ismael Barroso but would later lose his crown to the talented Venezuelan Jorge Linares on points in a convincing win.

Seeking redemption, Crolla sought out to retrieve his belt with the new WBC Diamond title also on the line in a rematch with Linares last March. However, the result would be the same as their first encounter.

No, not "Million Dollar" man Crolla, but legendary MC Michael Buffer. I think he's about to implore us to rumble.

Next up is the IBO champion and the number three seed for the tournament, Chris Eubank Jr.

In typical Eubank swagger, he sways and struts to the ring in a red robe and draped with a British flag to the mellow hip hop sounds of Dr. Dre.

Now it's time for the Turkish and British national anthems.

Andy Barton: Eubank can only be the best in the world, if he fights the best in the world, rather than ducking GGG (Gennady Golovkin). The loss to Billy-Joe wasn't controversial as Eubank didn't do anything for the first eight rounds.

Both fighters have got their hands wrapped and it will not be long now.

  9. 'Burns has shown his appetite for a scrap'published at 22:03 British Summer Time 7 October 2017

    Anthony Crolla v Ricky Burns

    Keir Murray
    BBC Scotland at Manchester Arena

Ricky Burns made his professional debut almost exactly 16 years ago. Since then he has had an average of three fights a year, winning 41 times, losing six and drawing once in a 48-bout career.

He says he will keep going until he is repeatedly taking punishment in his fights or by his younger sparring partners, or until he gets fed-up with the dieting. He has had to go on a strict regime to drop from super-lightweight to the 135lb lightweight limit.

This contest against Manchester's Anthony Crolla will be a stern test of his resolve but he has shown many times over the years his appetite for a scrap.

The 26 year-old is unbeaten in 16 fights with 10 knockouts to his name.

He's a well travelled fighter, having only fought in his home country three times before hitting the road for fights in Germany, Italy, Mexico and the United States.

His manager, Ahmet Oner, is a vocal man when it comes to protecting his charge and on Thursday he had to be removed from a press conference following an altercation involving colourful language with Chris Eubank Jr's security team.

  16. What is the World Boxing Super Series?published at 21:45 British Summer Time 7 October 2017

Chris Eubank Jr v Avni Yildirim

Chris Eubank is in the quarter-finals tonight of the World Boxing Super Series, an eight-man tournament where the fighters are competing to get their hands on the Muhammad Ali Trophy.

The event has a $50m prize fund and there are two weight divisions - cruiserweight and super-middleweight.

Our attention focuses on the latter tonight and Eubank v Yildirim is the second quarter-final after Callum Smith defeated Erik Skoglund earlier this month. The winner of this one is due to come up against either WBA champion George Groves or fellow Brit Jamie Cox.

  17. The story so far: Chris Eubank Jr.published at 21:43 British Summer Time 7 October 2017

Chris Eubank Jr. v Avni Yildirim

Chris Eubank Jr followed a similar path into boxing as his namesake father, where he was moved to New York with his brother and honed an amateur career in the Nevada State Golden Gloves tournament. But he went one step further than his dad by winning the prestigious prize.

He returned to England in 2011 to turn professional and quickly enhanced his reputation with flashy entrances and confident performances in his unbeaten stretch of 18 wins until a loss to bitter rival Billy Joe Saunders on a split decision in 2014.

But Eubank has won all seven of his fights since then and won the IBO super-middleweight world title against Renold Quinlan before a successful defence against Germany's Arthur Abraham allowed him to enter the World Boxing Super Series.
