I have 6-5 to Callum Smith. That final exchange in the last 20 seconds that was unbelievable. They were not wild shots by Ryder. That was great thinking. The Ryder boys have had a training camp on how to beat a 6ft3ins man.

  3. Round 11 - Ryder rocks Smith!published at 22:58 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Smith v Ryder

We have less than six minutes to go and this is close. In his home city, you'd expect Callum Smith to maybe get given the odd close round. Ryder, realistically, needs to rip these titles away and he must empty the tank now and go for it.

He puts his head down and goes forward like he's braced for a scrum. He taps the punches into Smith's belly up close. They part, Ryder springs forward again but takes a left hand into his own stomach. The crowd are up, there are screams of panic and this is wide open.

A left hook from Ryder, Smith is wobbling, Smith is wobbling, Smith is wobbling!! The bell goes and that was a MASSIVE RYDER ROUND!

I think he is maybe realising now he has a couple of rounds left. He is a round or two up and he is realising distance is the thing. I think we are going to have two final round here that will be absolutely brilliant.

  8. Round 10published at 22:53 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Smith v Ryder

Plenty of you on Twitter have Ryder up. This would be some upset.

Into the 10th and Ryder's plan continues as he drives Smith back to the ropes. They split and jabs from Smith are good. That's what he needs now, to box and not brawl. Ryder though is bringing the brawl and has done all night long.

Less than a minute to go and a good left hook from Smith, he caught Ryder as he moved forward there and made him pay.

This is Smith's round for me and they are all so key now at this stage. Around 20 seconds to go. The belt is in the air, who wants it?

  13. Round ninepublished at 22:49 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Smith v Ryder

This has not been the Callum Smith we saw in his last two outings but he carries the kind of power that can wipe someone out as fatigue sets in.

The trouble he has is Ryder wants to walk forward and dig into a brawl and he's not showing signs of taking a backward step.

A left to the body from Smith, a left to the face from Ryder, back and forth.

A left hook from Smith, he's getting instructions from his brothers are ringside but the bell sounds and again, that was a tight one.

John Ryder is on a mission here. This is a couple of rounds away and he could well win this fight. Callum needs a very good round here.

  16. 'Uncomfortable for Smith'published at 22:46 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Smith v Ryder

It is starting to be uncomfortable for Callum Smith. He is in a place we have never really seen him before. Ryder is making it difficult for him.

  17. Round eightpublished at 22:45 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Smith v Ryder

A head clash in the eighth brings a brief pause and my word this is up for grabs suddenly.

What has John Ryder got in the tank, has he worked on that engine?

He pushes Smith back to the ropes once again. He's never letting the home fighter have space and that drains the man being pressured as he's being forced to think, forced to work.

Smith flicks two jabs out and gets nothing and look at this, Ryder kicks forward again and gets a drilling left hand home.

    UP.

    FOR.

    GRABS.
