Tyson Fury said he expected Deontay Wilder to request a third fight after he ended the American's five-year reign as WBC heavyweight world champion in Las Vegas.

The previously undefeated Wilder was floored twice before his corner threw in the towel, but the Briton said: "I know he is a warrior and I'll be waiting."

Fury says "there is only one place" for the fight to take place.

"Over the road [at the Allegiant Stadium, home of American football team Las Vegas Raiders] in front of 70,000 fans," the 31-year-old told BT Sport Box Office.

The newly crowned champion won in seven destructive rounds at the MGM Grand Arena.

The pair drew their first bout 15 months ago but Fury said he had been "underweight and over-trained".

"I told everybody with a pair of ears that the Gypsy King would return to the throne," said the Briton. Everybody wrote me off. I'm a destroyer. Not bad for someone with pillow fists."

So who next? Immediately after the fight, Eddie Hearn, promoter of Anthony Joshua, the holder of the other world heavyweight belts, says an all-British unification fight between Fury and Joshua had to happen this year.

However, that depends on whether Deontay Wilder agrees to fight Fury again. The American has 30 days whether to trigger a contracted third-fight with Fury.

Tyson Fury produced the most destructive performance of his boxing life to end Deontay Wilder's five-year reign as WBC heavyweight world champion in seven thrilling rounds of their Las Vegas rematch.

The Briton, 31, pummelled his rival in a way few could have imagined following their 2018 draw, flooring him in the third and fifth rounds while constantly backing the most-feared puncher in the division up in a way no-one has done before.

A jab and right hand - the combination Wilder has wiped men out with repeatedly - sent the American down in the third, stunning the MGM Grand Arena.

Wilder, who was making his 11th defence of his title, fell again before the round was out - this time a slip - and was ragged under the pressure, before a right and left hand to the body sent the 34-year-old down in the fifth.

Fury delivered everything he had promised, transitioning from his hit-and-move style to overpower, outwork and bully his previously undefeated rival until the towel came in during the seventh round.

This was more than a world title win, it was a statement - and as Fury was held aloft by his corner after victory was sealed, the days of depression, weight gain and despair that cost him the belts he claimed in 2015 seemed a lifetime away.

It was a dominant performance from Tyson Fury, who floored Deontay Wilder heavily in the third round and then again in the fifth. Only the ropes saved the American from hitting the canvas for a third time.

But Fury was relentless and did not let up on his attacks. Early in the seventh he attacked again and this time Wilder's corner had seen enough. The towel came in and Fury became a two-time champion of the world.

Deontay Wilder, we are told, will not be coming to the news conference. He has been taken to hospital.

Wilder is said to be "well" and has gone to hospital for a "couple of stitches" on a cut inside the ear according to his team.

Talk about fighting fire with fire.

The puncher was backed up to the point he couldn't muster the energy to punch. He was feinted out of punching and kidded time and again. He was backed up, pushed, bullied and hammered into the kind of submission few saw coming.

Fury led 59-52 on two cards and 58-53 on the other. In truth, after that first knockdown it was obvious he would not be needing the judges.

This version of Fury is simply a frightening prospect.

There has not been an undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999-00 and the man himself has tweeted his thoughts on the big fight.

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn is hoping for a unification bout to see who will be the undisputed champion, although, remember, Deontay Wilder has a 30-day period to decide if he wants to take the third, contractually-agreed, fight with Tyson Fury first.

But fellow Briton Dillian Whyte - the mandatory challenger for Fury's WBC belt - wants his shot at the title first.

Fury then says he wants the third bout against Wilder to take place in Las Vegas in the stadium currently being built for the re-located Las Vegas Raiders American football team [the Allegiant Stadium, which is due to be opened in the summer].
