Last time out, Tyson Fury gained a points win over Sweden's Otto Wallin, despite sustained a horrible cut near an eye early on - and Fury has now enlisted the help of a new cuts man...

Jacob 'Stitch' Duran once told Sylvester Stallone he could not sleep because he felt out of place being on his movie set for one of the 'Rocky' films.

Stallone simply replied: "You've earned it".

But Duran's toil did not come at acting school or on stage, it came through decades spent looking at blood, bumps, bruises and shattered men in the corner of boxing rings as he patched them up and became the most recognisable cuts man in boxing.

He will stare into Tyson Fury's eyes between rounds as his new boss takes on WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder less than four months after sustaining cuts that needed more than 40 stitches.

"My job is to give them one more round," Duran, 68, tells BBC Sport in Las Vegas. "I was talking to Tyson at the gym and I said everyone is concerned about the cut except you and I. It is not going to be an issue. I told him my job is for you to walk out as handsome as you walked in.

"Psychology is a big thing. I told Tyson in the ring I am going to treat you like you are my son. You have to give him the confidence to take the cut out of his mind."

  2. 'Excellent boxing abilities'published at 04:50 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

Here are some more predictions from big names in the world of boxing.

Sugar Ray Leonard: "I know that Fury has excellent boxing abilities and a tremendous chin from the way that he got up from the two knockdowns in their previous fight. In the end, I think that Wilder is always in shape and that he will use his speed and power to get the job done."

Paulie Malignaggi: "I feel like it's going to be Fury on points, but it's a fight between the two best fighters in the weight class. I do think Fury has to be careful with getting careless in spots, but Wilder can't just fight believing he can land one shot and get him out of there."

Evander Holyfield: "I'm picking Wilder based on his confidence and the fact he does all of the right things to remain in great shape, and that he's committed to his craft. Wilder's not just a big guy with a right hand, he's also become more calculated in his approach."

At the lifts yesterday I found Laura and James, they decided on a whim that the weekend wasn’t good enough if they just went to the fight so they got married.

Everything was done in the blink of an eye. That’s Vegas for you!

    Congratulations to the happy couple.

Bazza84: Was leaning towards Wilder by decision a couple of weeks back (only way Fury gets a decision if it's a clear one sided lopsided one for obvious reasons). However, I'm now thinking Wilder by KO or stoppage if Fury's cut opens again. Can't see Fury landing a KO punch on Wilder, unfortunately.

Juddaman GT: I am a little worried about Fury bulking back up and saying he will go for a KO. I think he needs the speed and focus on that brilliant head movement to avoid Wilder's combos. Like the first fight but harder to hit.

Ron: I'm really looking forward to this one and am glad Fury has a top-class cuts man because the cut he sustained looked nasty. It sounds that Tyson's in the best condition he can be. Both fighters can punch, anyone could knock one another out. Tyson on TV was an amiable giant with a big heart. A lovely family and knows where he has come from.

I can tell you that at the MGM Grand tonight, Anthony Joshua has representation as his manager and staff from his promotional team have turned up.

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury’s teams are here of course.

And the gent who represented Saudi Arabian authorities is here too. So could we soon see deals struck and a big bout between two of the three out in the Middle East?

Here's Deontay Wilder, who says his "moment in time is finally here" and that his rematch with Tyson Fury is "bigger, if not better than Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquiao" because of the interest and ticket sales generated so far.

When Patrick Killian is in town it’s a big fight. Anthony Joshua’s team once shouted at him “Patrick, you get everywhere.”

The Welsh artist has been in Vegas all week. At one point I walked past a television and he was on ESPN stood alongside Andre Ward, grinning cheekily to the camera.

His work is on sale in the MGM Grand’s memorabilia store. Mike Tyson signed stuff in there today and the queue was absolutely colossal.

    There’s boxing everywhere you look.

Billbo: Tyson Fury is a giant of a man, not just physically, also personality, courage and spirit. I respect this human for his boxing skills and also the person he has become. I very much hope he returns to the UK the winner.

Mercynet: Tyson is a very likeable guy. Hopefully he wins this then retires so he can spend more time with his wife and kids.

Spiros115: I don’t see it being all that different to the first fight, Tyson would be a fool to stand and trade, I think that’s just distraction tactics, bit of extra weight just for punch power. It’s all about can Tyson avoid a flush right hand. So close this one I’m just worried the extra weight will make Tyson tire and be easier to hit, I want him to win but think Wilder will.

  18. Boxing's great showmenpublished at 04:29 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

Not only are Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder two of the best heavyweight boxers of their generation, they are arguably the most entertaining.

Who could forget before their first bout when Fury (with a little bit of help from then-trainer Ben Davison, promoter Frank Warren and legendary trainer Freddie Roach) sung 'American Pie' in a news conference?

What about Wilder? Well, if he has a successful night tonight expect him to scream out his 'bomb squad' catchphrase just when you're not expecting it.

    A bit like this...
