Oleksandr Usyk delivered a stylish and measured display to pick apart Derek Chisora in a points win that underlined his credentials at heavyweight.

The former unified world cruiserweight champion moved with grace and picked punches beautifully to frustrate his British rival over 12 rounds.

An attack in the seventh sent Chisora staggering to the ropes and Usyk was sublime in landing shots on the move.

A shattered Chisora had no reply and lost 117-112 115-113 115-113.

Lee Selby's dreams of competing for a second world title were left in tatters after a points defeat at the hands of George Kambosos at Wembley Arena.

Selby, 33, looked to be finding a rhythm at halfway but Australia's Kambosos stayed patient and began to deal with the Welshman's movement.

A right hand caught Selby's chin flush in the eighth and another drilled home in the 12th and final round.

It was enough for Kambosos to win a split decision 118-110 114-115 116-112.

Savannah Marshall produced a stunning performance to stop Hannah Rankin over seven rounds and win a world title for the first time at Wembley Arena.

England's Marshall offered eye-catching variety and wonderfully crafted shots on her way to a dominant win and the vacant WBO world middleweight title.

The 29-year-old's ferocious attack in the seventh forced Scotland's Rankin to take a knee and the bout to be stopped.

"I'm over the moon," Hartlepool's Marshall told Sky Sports.

"There were times when I thought, 'When will my chance come?' But tonight it did and I grabbed it with both hands."

Oleksandr Usyk, who won to become mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua's WBO world heavyweight title, said: "Chisora is a big guy, a hard guy and is a real test at heavyweight.

"I was expecting the fight like that, even a tougher fight."

Asked to give himself a mark out of 10, he replied: "Three out of 10. I have not boxed in one year."

Can he still be world champion? "Absolutely. The undisputed world heavyweight champion. Not just world champion."

  7. Reaction from Chisorapublished at 00:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2020

Asked if he thought he had won, Derek Chisora replied: "Yes 100%. I had a few rounds away but I was pushing the pace. But the judges saw it a different way.

"I'm just disappointed with the result, when you are in there you take shots, it's a fight game.

"He did very well. I am gutted. In the heavyweight game you have to fight and not box. I gave a couple of rounds away."

And in a general message, Chisora added: "Be kind to each other. We're all struggling, The world is bad out there right now."

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte on BBC Radio 5 live: "I didn't see anything special from Usyk. Derek was following him around - I don't know what advice he was being given. There were no boxers in there [in Chisora's corner]. It is a joke. Maybe their plan was to survive 12 rounds.

"Usyk can be a force because he has pedigree and is a good mover, but that's about it."

  15. 'Usyk danced, moved and was slick'published at 00:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2020
