“She’s looking very relaxed in there and I was quite surprised by how relaxed she was, but that is her style. She likes her flow. She looked clam in there while I don’t think Hermans looked calm.”

Both ladies have made their way to the ring and there are no prizes for guessing who the home favourite might be.

Savannah Marshall's every step is cheered by this partisan crowd.

WBA super-welterweight champion on BBc Radio 5 Live

“Savannah is very big for the weight. I know when I fought her and stood opposite her in the ring, she expanded even more since we were on the scales.

She’s a heavy puncher and really developed into her own style. Her and Peter Fury have a fantastic connection, they work well together, he’s really increased her confidence. I think it’ll be tough for Femke.”

  6. Will Hermans spoil the party?published at 22:20 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Marshall v Hermans

    Kal Sajad
    BBC Sport at Utilita Arena

Savannah Marshall says Femke Hermans - a former super-middleweight champion - is her toughest test to date and is not expecting an easy night. But the Belgian is a heavy underdog with the bookmakers.

Hermans has lost three times in a 15-fight career, one of those being a unanimous points defeat to Claressa Shields in 2018.

It’s important for Marshall to not take her eye of the ball, with the carrot of an undisputed clash dangling in front her, but it would be a major upset if she was to lose her world title tonight.

  8. 'Peter Fury is the only man in boxing I trust'published at 22:17 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Marshall v Hermans

Savannah Marshall likes to bill herself as the biggest puncher in women's boxing and it is hard to argue with the knockout artist.

Nine of her 11 wins have ended via knockout and Marshall's promoter Ben Shalom insists with the Hartlepool fighter entering her prime, she is unbeatable.

But boxing wasn't always sunny skies for Marshall, having needed time to find a home for herself in boxing. Now with coach Peter Fury, the uncle of heavyweight Tyson Fury, Marshall says his influence has changed everything.

She told BBC Sport: "I can honestly say that, in this sport, Peter is the only man I trust.

"I'm just glad I listened to what he said and trusted his every word.

"I improved day-by-day. The technique of his training improved me as a professional boxer and the way he taught me to deliver the punch definitely improved my punch power."

Now we know it's very bad form to be chatting about another fight before Savannah Marshall has even stepped in the ring with Femke Hermans... But we're going to do it anyway.

Who would you pick between Marshall and Claressa Shields? The animosity keeps going between these two who had that famous encounter in the amateur ranks when Shields was just 17. (Marshall won that meeting)

Ten years on the pair are on the verge of fighting for the undisputed middleweight title. So who wins?

Chisanga Malata: Shields beats Marshall easily, IMO.

Alan Graham: Savannah Marshall beats Clarissa Shields with one arm behind her back.

Chris Lloyd: Marshall beats Shields for me.

James Jr: Savannah Marshall bragging about beating Shields in the amateurs at 17, is like a kid bragging about taking the basketball spot from Michael Jordan as a freshman in high school.

    Marku beats Jenkins

    Kal Sajad
    BBC Sport at Utilita Arena

Amir Khan v Florian Marku? The general feeling amongst boxing fans is that Khan - after his brutal loss to Kell Brook in February - should stay out of the ring.

But with Marku's huge support, it's a sellable fight. Albeit one which Khan has very little to gain from... apart from pound notes.

  11. 'Give me Khan, I'm going to break him'published at 22:10 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Marku beats Jenkins

Speaking to Sky Sports, Florian Marku said: "First of all, I want to thank all the people who have supported me. I also want to wish all Muslims Happy Ramadan in the world.

"Chris Jenkins, I have respect for him. He accepted the fight with me and I wanted to show the UK fans that I didn't get here today by luck.

"Today, I outboxed the boxer. I am still learning, I'm only three years in the boxing game. Give me Amir Khan next, I'm going to break him."

Chris Andre: Fantastic from Marku to adjust after the first 2 rounds & to up the tempo & start punching with Jenkins & to follow him out. Beautiful shot to hurt Jenkins, and the end might have been near, but that stoppage was premature.

Jason Wilson: Why didn’t Jenkins take a knee?

Dave Coldwell: Jenkins was doing really well there. But Marku’s power makes the difference. He’s definitely fun to watch and the atmosphere from his fans is great. Lots of entertainment fights out there for sure.

Was the referee too quick to stop the fight there? Could Chris Jenkins have taken a knee to give himself a chance?

    Breaking

    Marku v Jenkins

    Florian Marku wins by knockout!

The big right hand lands on the top of the head and the legs start to fail Chris Jenkins.

The Welshman stumbles and Marku continues his assault. The referee steps in and that's the end of that.

Into the third round and the fight sparks into life.

Chris Jenkins penetrates Florian Marku's defence with a stern right hand uppercut.

But Marku, who is cut after a clash of heads, doesn't take a backward step as he powers through with a right of his own.

    It's heating up...

With such a pro Marku crowd, it's often easy to think the fighter they're cheering the most loudly for is the one having the most success.

But Jenkins has been more impressive in the opening two rounds. Boxing well and mixing up his shots.

    The jab continues to dominate.

Neither fighter is throwing too much caution to the wind in the early stages.

Florian Marku does get through with a right hand but Chris Jenkins is showing some neat movement and footwork.

  20. Round onepublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Marku v Jenkins

Despite all the noise from the stands, it's a steady start by both fighters as they work each other out.

Chris Jenkins is the busier of the two as he throws a flurry of punches to the body, but Florian Marku fires back to the head.
