Cordina's boxing beautifully. He's picking his shots and some of the counters were unbelievable and he certainly hurt Rakhimov. Conditioning is soon going to become a factor.

Rakhimov staggered back to the corner, he nearly fell into the arms of Freddie Roach. That round was how I expected seven, eight or nine to be, this was a furious round.

Welsh boxing legend Joe Calzaghe, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, says: "It's a great atmosphere here, a tough fight for Joey. Unfortunately he had the title taken off him. I saw Rakhimov fight, he's a tough opponent but I think Joe Cordina has the boxing skills and the boxing IQ to do it.
"I had so many great nights here. There's a lot of pressure on Joey but I think he will do it and hopefully he can put in a great performance, it's going to be a tough night.
"He would not fight if he was not 100% so I expect him to go in and punch hard. He could stop Rakhimov in the first six round or possibly win by decision."
