I had big hopes for tonight's action and it certainly did not disappoint.

Katie Taylor got her moment in Ireland and becomes a two-weight undisputed champion.

The greatest night of Taylor's career? There have been so many incredible occasions but this undoubtedly tops the list.

I mentioned Katie Taylor stayed in the ring long after completing her media duties and she's only just disappeared to the backstage area, she was meeting and greeting all the fans on her way there.

Some special moments for those fans as they get pictures with the two-weight undisputed world champion.

Undisputed middleweight champion Claressa Shields on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Salute both women it takes two to tango!"

Promoter Eddie Hearn, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "There's only two fights for her. The Chantelle Cameron trilogy or the Amanda Serrano rematch.

"I will be banging on the doors here to make it happen at Croke Park. Get behind her and give her everything she deserves."

Six months ago, Katie Taylor left Dublin's 3Arena with her head down after losing against Chantelle Cameron for the undisputed light-welterweight crown.

Katie Taylor, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "This is the best night of my career so far. The first fight didn't go my way and I'm so happy I got a second chance."

Crowd: "It was amazing support. They kept me going tonight in the latter part of the fight. I was very calm stepping in here and I'm very happy to have pulled it off.

Pressure: "I had a lot of pressure going into this fight. It was the longest six months waiting for the rematch. I had sleepless nights thinking about the loss."

Two-weight undisputed champion: "This is what dreams are made of. Two-weight undisputed champion, this is more than a dream."

Cameron: "Chantelle is a phenomenal fighter, a great champion. I had to dig deep tonight just like she did in the first fight."

Taylor has only just left the ring.

She has been speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live but also took time to soak up the adulation of the fans.

There was even a moment where she leant through the ropes to speak with singer Ed Sheeran, I wonder if she's tapping him up for a walkout at Croke Park?

Let's not forget Cameron in all of this.

Taylor may have won and deserves a huge amount of credit for becoming a two-weight undisputed champion, but Cameron was a key part of ensuring we had a show tonight.

Just 12 months after becoming undisputed light-welterweight champion, Cameron has lost her belts but she has won a fanbase and an immense amount of respect from the boxing community.

She had some big moments tonight and can certainly hold her head high.

This is the first time Cameron has tasted defeat in her career.

We've just seen what a first loss did for Taylor, the Irishwoman came back even better, and that can only offer inspiration for Cameron if they do get a trilogy together.

Promoter Eddie Hearn, speaking to DAZN: "This is the single greatest night I think I've witnessed in this sport.

"They doubted Katie Taylor and wrote her off. She is one of the biggest legends to ever come out of this country. You should be so proud of her. I've not heard one person say a bad word about this woman.

"She deserves everything. The greatest night in the history of her career.

"Croke Park has to happen. She's done everything for this sport and this country. Next spring, summer we will create an event you will never forget."

Katie Taylor, speaking to DAZN: "Two-weight undisputed champion? That sounds very nice! That was the longest six months of my life waiting for this rematch. This is my real homecoming tonight."

Written off: "Whoever wrote me off obviously doesn't know me very well."

Last fight: "The last fight, you saw the worst of me and the best of Chantelle. Tonight, you saw the real me and no one can beat me like this."

Trilogy: "Lets get the trilogy at Croke Park."

Cameron respect: "It takes two to tango. Chantelle is a great fighter and she deserves everything as well. She is a legend herself. I don't think there's ever been a trilogy in women's boxing and this could be the first."

"You learn the most from your losses. Never give up. Thank you so much for all of your support and all of your prayers. I can't thank you all enough."

Taylor can barely get a word out when the crowd chant "Katie, Katie, Katie".

This atmosphere has been building all night and what a night it has been for Ireland and Irish boxing.

There were always going to be questions about what next for Taylor win or lose, it seems we have an answer already.

Taylor tells DAZN: "Let's do a trilogy at Croke Park!"

We'll be hearing from Taylor in just a few moments, for now, she is revelling in this and she fully deserves to.

It didn't pan out how she hoped in May when she made her official homecoming but tonight must feel all the sweeter for that loss.

"Oh my gosh, two-weight undisputed champion, that sounds very nice", says Taylor.

One judge has it a draw and the other two are 98-92 96-94 in favour of Taylor.

Revenge, redemption, atonement.

Taylor has done it.

The Irishwoman has corrected the only loss on her professional record to become a two-weight undisputed world champion.

When they first met in May, one judge scored it a draw, while the other two had it 96-94 to Cameron.

That night felt a lot more of a convincing win for Cameron, this one feels much closer.

Could that sway the judges to favour Taylor? Or are we set for a draw??

There is nothing pretty or technical about this final round. It is pure guts, spirit and will to win from both fighters. It is what we love to see when everything is on the line.

They both throw relentlessly in close and that's how we see it through to the bell.

Oh my. What a contest.

I can't pick how this is going to be judged. Now for the anxious wait.

That was the most physical round. It ended with a headlock and started with an elbow.

How much is left in the Taylor tank is the big question.

Cameron wants to be in close to land this digging shots and Taylor is letting her close the distance.

The crowd raise the decibel level once again and Taylor responds with some short shots of her own.

Taylor's mouth is wide open as the the final seconds tick by and the bell rings.
