A reminder that a win for United would take them second, keep their very slim title hopes alive, and also guarantee their qualification for the Champions League next season. So plenty to play for.

Marc Skinner will not want to see Chelsea celebrating on his home turf tonight, so they're going to do everything they can to stop that.

Just before kick-off, Manchester United thanked goalkeeping coach Ian Willcock, who will leave at the end of the season.

He is much-loved among players and staff and was given a warm cheer by supporters as he posed for a photo with the goalkeepers and his family.

Some interesting decisions by Manchester United manager Marc Skinner tonight. Top scorer Elisabeth Terland - who has nine league goals this season - and midfielder Ella Toone are both on the bench.

A gamble against the league leaders, to be sure.

We shall soon see if it pays off - the players are on the field at Leigh Sports Village, kick off is moments away.

Chelsea are no longer in the running for a quadruple after their Champions League exit but their sights are still set on achieving a league, FA Cup and League Cup treble.

Bompastor said the "best teams need to bounce back" to be successful, following her side's demoralising 8-2 loss on aggregate to Barcelona.

"I'm still really confident going into this game on Wednesday," she said.

"I think if we have the opportunity to win on Wednesday it will be a big step for the title. This motivation is strong enough and big enough for us to be focused on Manchester United.

"We had that ambition to make the quadruple. It didn't happen.

"That's now for us to move forward and focus on the treble and hopefully we'll have that at the end of the season."

I think this game is going to be tight. We're going to see in the first five, 10 minutes what mentality they've turned up in.

Are they going to be a wounded dog and ready to pounce on this United team and not give them an inch? Or, like what we saw with Arsenal, where they're exhausted.

I think the result at Villa Park gives them a bit more ammunition for this game.

While we debate whether Arsenal were distracted by their Champions League exploits tonight, we await to see whether Chelsea are affected by a chastening experience in Europe last weekend.

The Blues were crushed 4-1 at home by Barcelona on Sunday, and 8-2 on aggregate, to suffer a third successive semi-final exit at the hands of the Spanish side.

Will we see a hangover tonight, or can the Blues shake off their, erm, blues?

Arsenal were not at the races today but the credit has to go to Aston Villa.

Defensively, they made sure they shut Arsenal out for the last 20 minutes. and made sure there was no danger at the back.

Then, on the counter, Chasity Grant was fantastic. I love that we've got a plethora of goal scorers.

They got the tactics spot on and they outplayed Arsenal today, who had no way of getting back into the game.

Well, who saw that one coming? I certainly didn't!

It was a clinical and ruthless display from Villa who were playing with so much freedom after their lingering relegation fears were quashed this past week.

Arsenal have bigger fish to fry, with their main focus being the Champions League final next month.

Yet Renee Slegers will have plenty of questions for her players after such a lacklustre and weak defensive display.

A huge win for Aston Villa who take their winning run to three with a five goal display in front of their own fans.

Arsenal lose further ground in the race for the title, and leaves the door ajar for others in the race for European football.
