Lewis Hamilton puts the other Mercedes up into P5, as Charles Leclerc drops Fernando Alonso into the elimination pit by climbing to third on the timesheets.

Carlos Sainz also takes a seat in the top four and joins his Ferrari team-mate Leclerc.

Mercedes have put a fresh set of intermediates tyres on George Russell's car as the Briton heads out his latest flying lap. Russell suffers a twitch in the middle sector and is now having to chase the front-runners in his pursuit of getting out of the bottom five.

No problem for Russell in the end. He lifts himself up to P4.
