Ah. The Corrs are presenting the pole position award. Thank you, Andrew Benson for letting us know. The track is clear but no-one is in a rush to get back out.

I can't see the FIA being able to punish Verstappen for that considering there was no information given to the driver or team that there was a car in the wall at that specific corner. There was no light panels or flags on the entry to the corner.

Is that... The Corrs?! It is. Fantastic spot by the TV cameras.

The session will resume at 15:07 BST.

Max Verstappen had just finished his flying lap when the crash happened but he was on the team radio to ask why his lap time has been deleted, as he feels he made the appropriate adjustments when the double yellow flags were shown.

It is a lot of damage to fix for Ferrari, Carlos Sainz's worst qualifying of the season was back in Canada where he finished 12th. If they are able to get that car working and take it to the grid even he should start in 10th place.

Sainz walking back to garagepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 21 September

It's a good sight to see Carlos Sainz walking safely back to the Ferrari garage, but that's a disappointing end to his Singapore qualifying.

Max Verstappen, Oscar PIastri and Nico Hulkenberg had put a lap time on the board before the Spaniard crashed, but Verstappen's has now been wiped.

"I don't know if it was cold tyres, dirty air or I was... big snap."

  9. red flag

Sainz crashespublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 21 September

Carlos Sainz is moving about in the Ferrari and is slowly starting to climb out of the cockpit. The Spaniard was starting his lap but the car spun round and the rear took the brunt of the impact.

Woah! A Ferrari has just screeched across the screen. It's Carlos Sainz, who has hit the barriers at the final corner.

The camera phones are high in the air as the fans try to get a snap of our top 10 making their way out of the pit lane. Oscar Piastri has a personal best in the first sector, but McLaren team-mate Lando Norris is purple.

Jim: What more has Tsunoda got to do? Time and time again, he seems to outperform the car. Deserves a chance for a big drive in my opinion.

Nulla Pax: Checo back to his old form.

I watched Daniel Ricciardo walk around the media pen and he had a smile on his face. I asked about the smile on his face and he said that it was "fake smile". I then asked if that was his last qualifying session in F1 and he said "we'll see" and turned.

A fan favourite but this could be another departure pending for him.

Williams team principal James Vowles has been on the radio to both Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto to praise both drivers but also apologise on behalf of the team for the issues with tyre preparation.

While the pair are out in Q2, Argentine Colapinto was only 0.007 seconds off Albon's P11 time.
